Several Guangdong universities, namely Jinan University, Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou Medical University and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine recently released their students’ back to school plans:

Jinan University
The university will see the PhD, masters and senior bachelor students back to school in different waves from May 11th, giving priority to the PhD, masters students as well as the senior bachelor students of the science school and medical school. Different campuses and faculties can set an opening date based on their own circumstances.
Other students will continue their courses online and will not return to school for face-to-face classes this semester. Students with urgent research projects should apply for approval before coming back.
Senior students who are currently outside China or in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will not return to campus. The university will inform the students as soon as it has further arrangements.
As the university is imposing strict management on campus to prevent virus transmission, it will firstly arrange for students who are living in dormitories to resume offline classes from May 11th. And then will allow students currently off campus to come back from May 20th.
Sun Yat-sen University
Sun Yat-sen University will see its students return to study from May 11th. Detailed arrangements will be issued by individual faculties and affiliated hospitals.
South China University of Technology
South China University of Technology will see students return to study from May 12th. Students will receive detailed arrangements from their own schools. Students without a back-to-school message are not allowed to enter the campus. Students who have recently been overseas or in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan shall not be returning to campus this semester.
Guangdong University of Technology
The university has set the initial opening-day for May 18th from when it will see students return in different waves:
- May 18th: senior students who need to finish their graduate papers or projects at school
- May 25th: PhD and masters students who need to finish their research tasks at school
- June 15th to July 15th: other senior students
The remaining students shall not come back to school. Students with urgent research project should apply for approval before coming back.
Guangzhou Medical University
- May 11th-15th: senior students
- May 18th to June 5th: interns
- August 20th: other students
Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine
The university will see its students return to study from May 11th. Detailed arrangements will be issued by affiliated schools and institutes.
According to a teacher from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, the university has yet to determine the opening date and will inform the students as soon as it has made arrangements.
