Introduction to Yulin Normal University
Yulin Normal University (玉林师范学院, website) is located in Yulin, a thousand-year-old city in southeast Guangxi, covering an area of 1746 acres. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university directly under the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Yulin Normal University was founded in 1945, formerly known as Guangxi Provincial Linlin Teachers College, and was upgraded to Guangxi Yulin Special Teachers College in 1958. In 1994 it was renamed Yulin Teachers College. In 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Yulin Teachers College, Yulin Education College, Yulin Higher Vocational Technical College, Guangxi Radio and TV University Yulin Branch, merged and upgraded to Yulin Teachers College. In 2007, he passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education with excellent results. In 2013, it was listed as a construction unit for newly awarded master’s degree awarding units in Guangxi. In 2014, it was listed as a construction unit for newly awarded master’s degree awards in Guangxi. In the same year, he began to jointly train graduate students with universities such as Shaanxi Normal University and Guangxi Normal University. In 2015, it became the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot universities and overall transformation pilot universities in the autonomous region. In 2016, it became the chairman unit of the Guangxi Applied Undergraduate University Alliance, and was selected as the “100 School Project” partner college of the Ministry of Education Data China. In 2017, the review and evaluation of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education was successfully completed. At present, the school has developed into a comprehensive undergraduate college with undergraduate education, higher vocational education, adult higher education, and education for foreign students with teacher education characteristics.
Yulin Normal University has 16 secondary colleges, covering 10 university disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, agriculture, and art, with 63 general undergraduate majors. The school enrolls students in 25 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and Southeast Asian countries, and currently has 17,350 full-time students. Up to now, our university has jointly trained 102 graduate students and has trained a total of nearly 1092 foreign students.
Yulin Normal University currently has 1,403 faculty members, including 1,029 full-time teachers, 118 senior titles, 856 doctoral and master degree teachers, and 108 doctoral and master tutor qualifications. Yulin Normal University has built a number of key scientific research platforms and bases, and its research strength has gradually increased. In 2018, the Guangxi Science and Technology Major Project “Key Technology Research and Application Demonstration of Preparation of Nano-Calcium Carbonate”, sponsored by Professor Tian Jian from our school, received funding of 10 million yuan. The Collection and Research of Poetry Collection Documents won the 2018 National Social Science Fund Major Project.
