Introduction to Glasgow College, UESTC
Glasgow College UESTC is a joint educational institute, established in 2013, between University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the University of Glasgow (UoG), with approval of the Ministry of Education (MoE) of China. The College offers dual undergraduate degrees in Electronic Information Engineering, Communications Engineering and Microelectronic Science and Engineering. Our joint degree programmes (Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Communications) are delivered and assessed entirely in English.
Our college use advanced educational concepts from world-renowned universities, and adopt the syllabus and curriculum from the University of Glasgow. Relying on the high-quality resources of both universities, our college explore new ways to cultivate innovative technology talents. The college aim to enhance students’ innovative thinking ability for China’s IT and engineering industry. The teaching methods of the college are incorporated into the Chinese higher education and the British higher education quality monitoring system. Graduates get degrees from both the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the University of Glasgow.
This is an exciting time to join UESTC-Glasgow as an English teacher. In September 2019, we rolled out an innovative English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme for both general and specific contexts. We are keen to offer work to teachers who have a desire to develop professionally. We provide an integrated CPD programme designed and delivered by University of Glasgow teacher educators. We also offer opportunities in areas such as curriculum and syllabus development, materials writing, assessment work and teacher education.
In 2021, Glasgow College UESTC has been named as Educational Partnership of the Year at the 2021 Scotland-China Business Awards. The educational link between University of Glasgow and UESTC have been recognized.
