Introduction to Weifang Institute of Technology
Weifang Institute of Technology (潍坊理工学院, website), formerly known as Lishan College of Shandong Normal University, is a full-time general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Shandong Province in June 2005. In June 2019, it was transferred to the Weifang Institute of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The college covers an area of more than 1,800 acres, with a planned construction area of 660,000 square meters, of which the main campus (Qingzhou) has a construction area of 360,000 square meters, the central campus (Weifang) under construction has a construction area of 300,000 square meters, and more than 13,000 students.
The Weifang Institute of Technology includes the School of New Energy Engineering, the School of Biology and Chemistry, the School of Intelligent Health Care and Nursing, the School of Education, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Aeronautical Services and Hotel Management, the School of Fine Arts and Design, the School of Stylistics, the College of Robotics, Big Data College, College of Modern Agriculture and Environment, College of Music, College of Foreign Languages, College of Humanities and Communication, 14 secondary colleges and Department of Mathematical Sciences, College of Continuing Education, and Marxism College have three teaching institutions with 37 undergraduate majors and 22 Specialty majors covering 8 university disciplines including literature, science, engineering, management, economics, education, art, and medicine. Among them, Xinsong Robotics College, Big Data College, College of Modern Agriculture and Environment, College of Music, College of Foreign Languages, and School of Humanities and Communication will be moved into the campus after the official campus (Weifang) is officially opened.
The school keeps up with the needs of the society, fully develops the “new engineering” specialty, and cooperates with internationally renowned enterprises such as “Xinsong Robot Automation Co., Ltd. of the Chinese Academy of Sciences” and other enterprises, schools and enterprises to persist in creating brand-name majors and jointly cultivate socially in short supply of talents. The school has a number of scientific research institutions, including the New Energy Research Institute, the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, two engineering research centers, and more than 20 national patents. In the field of new energy, the Weifang Institute of Technology has leveraged the talents and scientific research advantages of universities, relying on the support of the national and provincial governments and the local government of Qingzhou City, and has made outstanding contributions in the areas of energy conservation, emission reduction, haze control and environmental protection. It has always followed the green development concept of applying renewable energy on a large scale and building a zero-carbon campus. In the 2018 World Green University Competition, it ranked 17th in the world. The “green campus” was listed as a key construction unit of the national circular economy city. Our school cooperated with Shandong University to complete the “863” biogas-based cold and heat power demonstration project, the Shandong Province comprehensive utilization of straw demonstration county project, won the bid for Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, the National University of Singapore, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other dozens of low-grade thermal refrigeration The laboratory and other projects mark our school’s international and domestic leading position in this field.

The Weifang Institute of Technology actively carries out international and domestic exchanges and cooperation. It cooperates with Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, National University of Singapore, University of California, Riverside, Bristol University, UK, The West of Scotland University, South Malaysia University, South Korea University, More than a dozen universities such as Nanhua University in Taiwan, Far East University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, and Kaohsiung University of Applied Science and Technology in Taiwan have launched cooperative training programs and comprehensively carried out student exchange and study programs abroad, providing students with a wider space for further education and employment.
