Campus

Southeast University is a university with a long history and rich heritage. The school was founded in 1902 by the Sanjiang Normal School, and later experienced important development periods such as the Liangjiang Normal School, the Nanjing Normal Normal School, the National Southeast University, and the National Central University. In 1952, the adjustment of colleges and universities in the country, the school’s arts and sciences and other departments moved out, with the former National Central University of Engineering as the main body, has been merged into Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Jinling University and other schools, in the National Central University The original site of the headquarters established the Nanjing Institute of Technology. In May 1988, the school was renamed Southeast University. In April 2000, the former Southeast University, Nanjing Railway Medical College, and Nanjing Transportation College merged, and the Nanjing Geological School was merged to form a new Southeast University. Southeast University has 33 departments and 77 undergraduate programs, 33 doctoral level first-level disciplines, and 49 master-level first-level disciplines. There are 30,664 full-time students, including 16,128 undergraduates and 14,536 undergraduates; 1989 are international students, including 1,547 international students. The school has four campuses, Jiulonghu, Dingjiaqiao and other campuses, covering an area of 5,888 acres, including 3,902.35 acres of Jiulonghu Campus, with a total construction area of about 779,700 square meters. The school library covers an area of 66,900 square meters and contains 4.4 million books and materials. The school also has Wuxi campus and Suzhou campus.

Southeast University is a comprehensive, research-oriented university with a focus on engineering, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management, and art. SCI and EI papers are listed in the forefront of the national universities. Southeast University is one of the most active universities in China for international exchanges and cooperation. The school also cooperated with Monash University in Australia to establish the Southeast University-Monash University Suzhou Joint Graduate School.
