Shenzhen MSU-BIT University (深圳北理莫斯科大学, website) is a Chinese-foreign cooperative university established by the Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Putin after reaching an important consensus. It is established by the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Moscow State Lomonosov University. The school aims to build a unique world-class international comprehensive research university, carrying the glorious mission of the nation ’s “Belt and Road” talent training, committed to the development of elite education and high-level scientific research and innovation activities. Strategic cooperation and regional economic and social development cultivate high-quality innovative talents and provide high-level academic results.

On September 13, 2017, President Xi Jinping and Russian President Putin addressed the opening ceremony of the school. Former members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier Liu Yandong of the State Council, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Gorodets jointly started the school. On June 5, 2019, President Xi Jinping and Russian President Putin mentioned in the “Joint Statement of the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation on the Development of a Comprehensive Strategic Collaboration Partnership for the New Era” in Moscow: Accelerating the construction of Moscow University in Shenzhen .

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University is located at No. 1 International University Park Road, Longgang District, Shenzhen, and covers an area of 333,700 square meters. The main building that stands on the central square is very similar in shape to the main building of Moscow University and is a landmark building on the campus. The main building is 156 meters high, and the pentagram at the top is known as the “Star of the Deep North”.

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University takes high-level education as the development direction, and carries out undergraduate, master and doctoral level education and non-degree education. The school’s long-term running scale is 5,000, and the ratio of undergraduates to graduates is 1: 1. The school has enrolled undergraduate and graduate students since 2017, and recruited doctoral students from 2018.

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University uses three languages: Chinese, Russian, and English for teaching. Domestic undergraduate enrollment breaks the traditional admission system for a lifetime and adopts the “631 comprehensive evaluation” model based on college entrance examination. Candidates will be registered at the Moscow University and the Moscow University of Shenzhen at the same time after being admitted.

Undergraduate education is issued in accordance with national regulations and school running agreements, and a diploma from Moscow University of Shenzhen and a diploma (including a degree) from Moscow University. Postgraduate education implements the Moscow University training program and awards Moscow University master’s and doctoral certificates.

Relying on the discipline advantages of Moscow University and Beijing Institute of Technology, Shenzhen MSU-BIT University combines the characteristics of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen Science and Technology Industrial Cluster, and insists on equal emphasis on culture and science to serve China-Russia culture and education, science and technology cooperation, and regional economic and social development. The school currently enrolls 5 professional undergraduates, 3 professional / orientation master students, and 2 professional doctoral students. The proportion of internationally educated students in the school is close to 10%, and a relatively complete talent training system has been initially formed.

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University currently offers five undergraduate majors: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Materials Science and Engineering, International Economics and Trade, Biological Sciences, and Russian; a number of majors in natural sciences, engineering, and art will soon be opened. In 2019, the school’s two majors, “Mathematics and Applied Mathematics” and “Russian”, are recommended to apply for national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites.

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University now offers three postgraduate majors in contemporary Russian language and literature (in Russian), nano-biotechnology (in English), and basic system ecology (in English); two PhD students in Russian language and literature and biology Both implement Moscow University training programs.

Moscow University and Beijing Institute of Technology select outstanding teachers to participate in the school’s teaching and research work.
