Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College (website) was formerly known as the Jiaxing Agricultural School of Zhejiang Province. It was jointly run with the Jiaxing Silk Industry School in 1998. It was established in 1999. It was formally established in 2002. It moved to the Tongxiang Avenue campus in 2005. It joined Jiaxing in July 2016. The Municipal Radio and TV University runs the school jointly. The college is currently a provincial model vocational college and a provincial civilized unit.
Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College has 7 full-time vocational colleges, including the College of Agriculture and Environment, the School of Architecture, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Information Technology, the School of Business and Tourism, the School of Foreign Languages and Trade, the School of Textiles and Art Design, and the International Education College 6 service teaching units, including the School of Entrepreneurship, the School of Continuing Education, the School of Open Education, the School of Community Education and Elderly Education, the Ministry of Social Sciences, Sports and the Arts. There are 36 full-time vocational majors such as commodity flowers, mechatronics technology, and international business (including 2 national support development majors, 3 provincial specialty majors, 8 provincial specialty majors), and nearly 9,000 full-time students. The school covers an area of more than 910 acres, the total area of the school building is nearly 280,000 square meters, and the library has a total of 4.962 million books.
Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College currently has 518 faculty members, including 145 teachers with deputy senior titles or above, 339 master’s and doctoral degrees, and the ratio of dual teachers to 91%; it has 5 provincial “151” talents, 1 provincial teaching teacher, and There are 19 professional leaders in higher vocational colleges, one provincial key scientific and technological innovation team, one provincial teaching team, one municipal key innovation team, and three municipal outstanding talents. In order to meet the needs of practical teaching and other needs, there are more than 400 part-time teachers and teachers. A total of 20% of the total class hours of part-time teachers from companies come to school each year.
The school pays attention to the cultivation of students’ professional practice ability and comprehensive quality. In recent years, students have won 38 national awards (including 3 first prizes) and 302 provincial and ministerial awards. He obtained 56 scientific research (Xinmiao talent plan) projects for university students, 2,311 patent or software copyright authorizations (including 28 invention patents), and published 389 papers. The school actively explores and implements the “production-academic cooperation” talent training model. The quality of talent training has been continuously improved, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 97%.
Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College vigorously carries out scientific and technological innovation and technical service work. Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College adheres to the road of school-enterprise cooperation and the combination of production, teaching and research, and actively promotes group-based education. The Jiaxing Xinhe Vocational Education Group, which is set up by the lead, currently has 186 member units, and has achieved outstanding results in the integration of production and education, cooperative education, etc., and has become a provincial model vocational education group.
Based on the needs of Jiaxing’s economic construction and social development, the school actively develops social service work by relying on platforms such as the Ministry of Agriculture’s modern agricultural technology training base, the agricultural specialty skill appraisal station, and the Jiaxing Farmer College. Currently, there are 18,000 trainings per year, more than 9,000 skills appraisals, more than 8,300 registered students of various academic qualifications, more than 30,000 public welfare trainings for the community, and total social service income of more than 25 million yuan.
Jiaxing Vocational and Technical College focuses on the construction of sports characteristics and actively develops mass sports activities. The school is a training base for the development of non-Olympic projects in Zhejiang Province, a sports specialty project (ground petanque) construction unit in ordinary colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province, and a base for petanque training in Jiaxing City. From 2014 to 2017, the school has won a total of 89 first prizes, 125 second prizes and 58 third prizes; it has successively won the Jiaxing City Mass Sports Advanced Collective, Zhejiang Province Badminton Project Development Advanced Unit, 2014 -In 2017, the province’s mass sports work outstanding units and other honors.
