Ningbo City College of Vocational Technology was established in March 2003 with the approval of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province. The school’s predecessor, the Vocational and Technical Education College of Ningbo University, was established in 1992. It was the first institution in Zhejiang Province to carry out full-time higher vocational and technical education. In 2001, the “Tourism Management and Service” specialty was identified by the Ministry of Education as a pilot specialty of higher education and teaching reform.
The school’s main campus is located in Ningbo Yinzhou Higher Education Park, and the new Fenghua campus is located in Fenghua Chengxi Cultural Education Park. The school consists of 8 secondary colleges and ideological and political courses, including business school, college of information and intelligent engineering, college of arts, tourism college, international college / TAFE college, landscape ecology college, finance and accounting college, adult education college / continuing education college, etc. The Teaching Department / Basic Course Teaching Department employs well-known professors at home and abroad as the deans of some secondary colleges. After the promulgation of the “Training Evaluation Program for Higher Vocational Colleges” by the Ministry of Education, in December 2009, the school passed the first batch of talent training evaluations in Zhejiang Higher Vocational Colleges.
