Guilin University of Aerospace Technology (桂林航天工业学院, website) was founded in 1979 and is located in the National AAAA Scenic Tourism Area-Yaoshan Scenic Area, Guilin City. In April 1999, the school reorganization system was transferred to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a management system of “co-construction between the central and local governments, focusing on local management” was implemented. The school was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in March 2012, and was added as a bachelor’s degree authorized unit in December 2015. It is now a member of the China Aerospace Association and the chairman of the Guangxi Aerospace Society.
