Chongqing College of Humanities, Science and Technology (website), founded in May 2000, is a higher educational institution and is qualified to grant bachelor’s degree. It is approved to offer undergraduate education, junior college education and preparatory course education. It is indentified by the Ministry of Education as one of the first pilot universities for national applied university strategic study. The educational concept of CCHST is “unity of inner knowledge and action &service to the society”. CCHST aims at developing a higher educational institution, providing quality education, cultivating personality and emphasizing talents development.

CCHST has 15 secondary colleges and provides 43 undergraduate programs, including musical performance, music, choreology, performance, broadcasting, broadcasting and & hosting art, journalism, teaching Chinese to overseas students, tourism management, hotel management, human resources management, computer science and technology, software engineering, automobile service and engineering, preschool education, art and design, architecture, accounting, economics, political science and law, English, etc. As a college of applied science, we constantly conduct in-depth market investigation to know the employment situation and adjust our majors and curriculum according to the changes from the labor market.

We are striving for a 2-year professional master degree appending the approval by the Chongqing Education Commission. CCHST continues to reform the cultivation of talents that cater to the labor market and we are determined to educate students to be of high quality. Our students should arm themselves with knowledge of management and operation and try to be practical and technology oriented. Over the recent years, our teachers and students have won hundreds of prizes from various competitions. For example, our students won many national prizes in the “Seventh National College Students Advertising and Art Competition”. We won the first prize of landscape design in the “Fourth National College Information Technology and Practice Competition”. The stage play “Graduation” directed by our students beat its rivals in Chongqing and won the title of “Excellent Campus Drama” in the 4th China Campus Theatre Festival. Another play “Home” won five medals in the 4th University Students Arts Festival.

Since the foundation of our college, we have educated hundreds of eligible graduates to serve our country’s economic construction and social development. In recent years, the employment rate of our graduates constantly stays at around 90%. Hundreds of students continue their master degree study in famous universities like The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang University, East China Normal University, Sichuan University, University Of Chongqing, Southwestern University, Communication University of China, Monash University, University of Minnesota and University of Portsmouth etc.

The college has been awarded the honorable titles of “Model of Social Organization”, “Excellent National Independent College”, and “Model of Non-governmental College” by the municipal and state governments.
