Introduction to Bohai University

Bohai University (website) was established in February 1950 and is a comprehensive university sponsored by the Liaoning Provincial Government. It is located in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province on the coast of the Bohai Sea.

Bohai University covers an area of more than 2,250 acres and a total construction area of 600,000 square meters. There are 17 secondary colleges, 48 undergraduate majors, 18 first-level master’s degree programs and 7 professional master’s degree programs, covering the classics, law, education, literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, There are more than 2,1900 full-time graduate students and undergraduate students in the fields of agriculture, management, and arts.

Bohai University has more than 1,200 full-time teachers, including nearly 200 professors and nearly 500 doctors. In 2014, Bohai University became a maritime education institution recognized by the International Maritime Organization, ranking fifth among the nation’s maritime colleges.

Since the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, the school’s teachers have completed and studied 2,438 scientific research projects such as the National “863 Program” project, the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the National Social Science Fund Project, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, and Liaoning’s major scientific research projects. Received 1,321 awards for various scientific research achievements; published 11,066 papers, and 2,534 papers were collected by SCI, EI, and CPCI; 685 monographs were published, and 421 invention patents were obtained. Since 2011, it has won 345 provincial and ministerial projects such as 40 national social science fund projects, 146 national natural science fund projects, 8 science and technology projects, and humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education.

Bohai University has established exchanges and cooperation with 23 universities and educational institutions in the United States, Germany, Britain, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Burundi and other countries, and 16 foreign companies have cooperated. As a Chinese government scholarship to enroll students in China, the school has received international students from 40 countries and regions to study, exchange scholars and give lectures, and select young and middle-aged teachers and outstanding students to study abroad or study for degrees, and cooperate with the University of Burundi. The Confucius Institute was established and was fully affirmed by the leadership of Hanban. In March 2014, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education as a Chinese government scholarship to enroll students in China.
