Introduction to Shanghai University of Finance and Economics
Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE, website) began as a business program at the Nanjing Higher Normal School in 1917. Yang Xingfo, a well-known social activist and patriotic democrat, was appointed as program director. In 1921, as part of the plan to establish the National Southeast University based on Nanjing Higher Normal School, the business program was restructured and transferred to Shanghai, where it established Shanghai University of Commerce under National Southeast University. This university was the first commercial university in China’s history of education. Guo Bingwen, a renowned educator, acted as president, and Ma Yinchu, a well-known economist, was the provost.

Dedicated to providing quality foreign language teaching, the School of Foreign Studies is responsible for recruiting English language instructors and the implementation of language teaching and administration.
Job Title: International English Instructors:
Qualification
- Language: Native English speakers
- Major: priority given to candidates with a degree in Liberal Arts or Business
- Degree: Master degree holder prefered, must have at least a Bachelor’s degree
- Certificate: TESOL/TEFL/CELTA is a plus
- Experience: 2 years or above teaching experience at the university/college level
- Others: In good health, aged 22-55. We prefer teachers who have their visa documents prepared
Job Description
- Courses: Spoken English, Western Culture, Communicative English, etc.
- Teaching Hours: 16 teaching hours/week (45 minutes/teaching hour)
- Office Hours: 2 hours/week
Salary
Basic Monthly Salary: 8000-10000 RMB
Other benefits:
- Monthly accommodation subsidy (if not living in the apartment provided by the university): BA degree:RMB 2500; MA degree:RMB 3000;
- Annual airfare subsidy: RMB 9,000 for USA (varies from different countries);
- Annual in-city public transportation subsidy: RMB1,000（RMB500/semester）;

- Paid winter vacation and summer vacation if contract is renewed for another academic year;
- Paid Public Holidays as stipulated by Chinese laws and regulations.
- Course Leader subsidy (if selected or voluntary): RMB 2,000/semester.
