Introduction to Minjiang University

Minjiang University (MJU, website) is a general full-time university of higher learning run by the People’s Government of Fujian Province, which was legally approved by the Ministry of Education in 2002. It carries out an educational system which is co-run by the principal and municipal governments but is based on the latter. Minjiang University is now one of the first batches of pilot universities for the education of master degree postgraduates on the basis of serving the special national needs. It is not only a master degree education organization in Fujian but also a pilot school in the province moving towards the application mode. The university is a merger of the original Fuzhou Teachers’ College (founded in 1958) and the original Minjiang Vocational University (established in 1984).

The General Secretary, Mr Jinping Xi was President of the original Minjiang Vocational University during his tenure as Party Secretary of Fuzhou Municipal Committee of Chinese Communist Party. The education philosophy of ‘Seeking not the biggest, but the excellent, but the most adaptable to the social demands’, as well as the objective ‘To base on Fuzhou, orient to market, focus on quality and highlight application’, which President Xi put forward for Minjiang in those years have now become Minjiang’s guiding ideology of running the university.

Minjiang University ESL Job Description

English Lecturer, starting in Feb. 2019
1. Monday to Friday, 12-18 lessons per week, each for 45 mins
2. Teach oral English, reading, writing courses (based on qualifications and experience)

Requirement
1. Bachelor’s degree or above, English or Education degree preferred
2. TESOL,TEFL or CELTA diploma preferred
3. Native English Speakers
4. Age from 25- 55 years old
5. Two years of teaching experience preferred
6. Having finished diploma and non-criminal record authentication

Salary and Benefits
1. Salary: 10,000-15,000 RMB per month according to experience and the amount of class
2. Ten months of salary for the first year;
3. Eleven months of salary for the second year;
4. Illness and accident insurance
5. Air allowance of 10,000 RMB per year
6. Free Private on-campus apartment provided
7. 3,000 RMB travel allowance for each semester; 6,000 RMB in total for a year
