Jiangsu Schools Adopt Thermal Imaging System For Virus Prevention

Many cities in Jiangsu Province, such as Nantong, Wuxi and Yancheng, have installed thermal imaging devices at the entrance of school to improve the rapid, non-contact temperature check.

Some of the systems are equipped with 5G technology to ensure fast and more efficient measurement amid the ongoing fight against COVID-19.

The system’s camera has an error margin of only 0.3 Celsius degrees, making it suitable for any teeming public place. The system can automatically sound an alarm and make a video recording when a person’s temperature is above the normal range, assisting schools to improve the coronavirus response.

Nantong branch of China Mobile said 65 primary and secondary schools in the city have installed ahe thermal imaging system, with nearly 180 schools to join the initiative in the near future. Among them, 39 primary and secondary schools in Chongchuan District have applied the 5G-powered thermal imaging system.

In Wuxi, Yancheng, Xuzhou and Suqian, Jiangsu branch of China Telecom has installed the system for nearly 100 primary and secondary schools.
