Olia is a foreign teacher at Linyi University. She came to Linyi from Russia with her husband 12 years ago to get married and have children. Olia’s husband is from Linyi, and the two got together when studying in Russia. In 2005, when her husband returned to China after completing her studies, Olia resolutely came to Linyi with her husband and got married. Since 2009, Olia has been a teacher of the Russian language major of Linyi University Foreign Languages ??Institute, and has been working for 8 years.
“After I first arrived in China, I went to Yantai to study Chinese for a year. At that time, many people advised me not to go to Linyi. The conditions there are not good. It is better to go to Qingdao or Jinan.” Olia said, she was young and didn’t think too much. In school, she can tell freshmen who have just entered school where there are delicious food; in life, she can drive with her two children or travel by bus. Olia, 35 years old this year, has big eyes, is a standard Russian beauty, and behaves gracefully. Although she has a gentle personality, in the eyes of her classmates, she is a very strict teacher. Olia said that the reason for her strict requirements on students is that they can learn more knowledge. “Since they have chosen the Russian major, most of them will engage in professional-related work in the future. Although she is a strict teacher in class, outside of class, Olia and her students are like friends. The most common thing she and her students talk about is food. When Olia first came to teach at Linyi University, the school was still in the old campus. Later, when the university moved to the new campus, she and her colleagues took a shuttle bus to the new campus to have classes. The teaching environment and facilities on the new campus have been greatly improved.
As a foreign teacher, Olia believes that the teaching level of Linyi University Foreign Language School is also improving. “When I first came, the foreign language school had very few languages. The current textbooks are more suitable for students to learn. “

Clayton said that in some cities in other countries, drunk people might fight at night and grab things from passersby. “And no matter how late you go out in Linyi, you have never encountered a fight, and no one will snatch things.” Clayton said that this is not only his feeling, he has many friends from different countries in Linyi. “They all feel the same, living in Linyi feels very safe.”
In addition to the environment giving him a sense of security, Clayton believes that the enthusiasm and simplicity of Linyi people also make him feel safe. “Sometimes I go to the hospital to see a doctor when I get sick. The doctor gives me a concentrated diagnosis, and the nurse takes care of me. It makes me feel very warm.”
To say that Clayton fell in love with Linyi, there is another very important reason, that is, he found a Linyi girlfriend. “Linyi girls are beautiful, virtuous, and value their significant other, I like it.” Clayton is preparing to marry his girlfriend next year. He also plans to buy a house in Linyi and settle in Linyi for a long time.
