The predecessor of Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (安徽中医药高等专科学校) was “Wuhu Traditional Chinese Medicine School” which was founded in 1960. In 2001, the school was independently upgraded and approved by the Ministry of Education the following year, and was first renamed as “Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine” in similar institutions across the country. In order to integrate health education resources and strengthen the strength of the school, in 2006, the municipal government assigned the established system of Wuhu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital to the school as a direct affiliated hospital; in 2012, the affiliated dental clinic successfully created an affiliated dental hospital (Wuhu Dental Hospital) . The school is currently the deputy director unit of the Chinese Medicine Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the deputy chairman unit of the Chinese Traditional Medicine Association’s Treatment Division, the sub-health professional committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, and the vice chairman unit of the professional committee of medicinal and dietetic research. Its predecessor was the Wuhu Dental Clinic established in 1956. It is currently the largest dental specialist hospital in southern Anhui.
