Introduction to Qingdao University of Technology
Qingdao University of Technology (青岛理工大学, website) is a combination of science and engineering, science and engineering, humanities, science and engineering, environmental engineering, and environmental energy. The predecessor of Qingdao University of Technology was “Shandong Qingdao Construction Engineering School”, which was established in December 1952. In June 1953, Shandong Province was placed under the leadership of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the Central People’s Government. In June 1960, it was upgraded to “Shandong Metallurgical Institute” and began to recruit undergraduates. Since then, the school’s affiliation has changed several times, and the level of school running has been continuously improved. In 1978, it was renamed “Shandong Institute of Metallurgical Industry” and resumed undergraduate enrollment under the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. In September 1985, it was renamed as “Qingdao Architectural Engineering Institute”. In 1993, it was approved as a master’s degree awarding unit by the Degree Committee of the State Council. In November 1998, he transferred to the leadership of Shandong Province and implemented a management system of “joint construction between the central and local governments, with local management as the mainstay”. May 2004 changed its name to “Qingdao University of Technology”. In 2005, it was approved by the Degree Committee of the State Council as the unit for granting doctoral degrees. Since the establishment of the school, the school has established a college, master, and doctoral personnel training system, and has trained more than 180,000 senior personnel in science, engineering, technology, and management for the society.
Qingdao University of Technology currently has three campuses: Shibei, Huangdao and Linyi. The Shibei campus is located in the urban area of Qingdao. The Huangdao campus is located in the Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone. It covers an area of about 2.165 million square meters and the building area of the school building is more than 1.0034 million square meters. The library has about 2.197 million books. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is over 384 million yuan.
Qingdao University of Technology currently has 2,430 faculty members, including 1,521 full-time teachers. Of the faculty, 597 have doctoral degrees and 1039 have master’s degrees; 218 are senior professional and technical personnel, and 512 are deputy seniors; 66 are doctoral supervisors and 742 are master supervisors. Qingdao University of Technology has 13 teaching faculties.
