Introduction to Tongji University

Tongji University (同济大学), one of China’s earliest national key universities, is a prestigious institution of higher education that is directly under the Ministry of Education and is supported by the Shanghai Municipality. Already in its second centenary, the University has grown into a comprehensive and research-intensive university with distinctive features and an international reputation. The University was among the 36 Class A universities in the list of Double First Class University Plan released by the central government of China in 2017. Teacher Recruitment

The language department of the Chinese-German college of Tongji University in Shanghai is looking for a language teacher as soon as possible.

Your tasks
1. German lessons up to 20 hours per week in language courses A1 – C1
2. TestDaF preparation
3. Accompanying course of studies in German

Our offerings
1. Salary: 15,000 RMB / month
2. Contract for the duration of one academic year with an option to extend
3. Assumption of flight and visa costs
4. Official residence on campus

Requirement
1. Mother tongue German or proven knowledge at C2 level
2. At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience
3. University degree in DaF or DaZ / alternatively: philological degree with additional qualification in German as a foreign language
4. Experience as an evaluator for TestDAF or examiner license for Goethe/ telc / OSD

Due to the current entry restrictions, applications from China are preferred. For reasons of visa law, the age limit for applicants is 59 years (reaching the age of 60 before the end of the employment contract).
