Weifang Expats – Living in Weifang

Jeff, Canada

Jeff has been working in Weifang for two years. He said that his greatest pleasure is walking along the Bailang River. Here, he can not only enjoy the prosperity of big cities, but also feel the warmth of small cities.

“Weifang is developing very fast. I have only been here for two years, and I can clearly feel its changes.” Jeff lives by the Bailang River. Over the past two years, he has watched the banks of Bailang River become more and more beautiful, and the shopping malls and bars have become more and more beautiful. More and more, life is getting more and more convenient. In his free time, his favorite thing is to walk around the Bailang River.

What moved Jeff the most was the kindness of the people in Weifang. Every day I walked and met the citizens of Weifang, everyone would greet each other cordially, “I’m in Beijing and Shanghai, people are in a hurry, turning a blind eye to me. In a small city, many people see I feel like seeing a “monster”, shouting “foreigners” at me, or being shy and not talking to me.” Jeff said, Weifang people are different, they are as kind and kind as family, especially when they are in a bad mood. At that time, looking at the beauty of Bailang River and the warm smiles of the people in Weifang, you will forget all the unhappiness. Living in other cities, Jeff generally likes to take a taxi to travel, but not in Weifang. Weifang’s buses have a strong “attraction” for Jeff.

“Weifang’s buses are very clean and in good order.” Jeff said that in many cities in China, Weifang’s buses are the cleanest he has ever seen. More importantly, taking the Weifang bus gave him the opportunity to get in touch with the city. Every time he took the bus, passengers would take the initiative to “give up his seat”, which made him feel the enthusiasm and kindness of Weifang people.

Siverchuk Bogdan, Ukraine “The rhythm here fascinates me”

Ukrainian Siverchuk Bogdan has lived in Weifang for two years. He told reporters that although Weifang has a fast-developing economy, the pace of life is still smooth and relaxed, which fascinates him.

Bogdan said that the pace of life in Weifang made him feel countless “miracles”. I was waiting for a friend at Dongfang Road on Fushou Street. I met an old lady in her seventies, thinking that she was lost, and eagerly showing him the way. The two started talking about it, and the old man spoke fluent Russian. , Which surprised him.

In his free time, Bogdan would go out on a bicycle. Once walking on the road, the wheel suddenly broke. He was pushing the car with difficulty. A young man in his twenties rushed up to help him repair the car. Then he kindly repaired the car. Smiled at him and left. “Life is too busy, you will not be in the mood to pay attention to others, and Weifang’s slow rhythm makes the people in this city more enthusiastic and kind.”

The kites and woodblock New Year pictures in Weifang also amazed Bogdan. In Yangjiabu, he once squatted beside an old artist who made kites and was amazed when he saw him pierce out a “paper tiger”. Bogdan believes that a slow pace of life can make people work hard to do what they like.

Stephen, Canada “I like Weifang’s wide roads”

Stephen, a Canadian, loves traveling. In addition to being a foreign teacher at Weifang Asian American English School, he spends most of his time traveling. Stephen said that Weifang’s beautiful scenery and extensive roads kept him here.

Stephen has almost traveled to the scenic spots in Weifang. Bailang River Wetland Park, Yuandu Lake and Shihu Garden are all places he frequents, especially Bailang River Wetland Park. “The scenery there is so beautiful, I like it very much.” In the urban area, Stephen usually travels on foot. He said that even on an ordinary road, the green trees on both sides and the blue sky above are enough to make people feel refreshed. The scenery in Weifang is good and the air is good, making it suitable for living.

If there are more than two days of vacation, Stephen will often leave Weifang and go to other cities. “Weifang’s traffic is very developed, and it is convenient to go anywhere by train.” Stephen said that even if it is to Beijing, it only takes four hours, and the price of goods is much lower than Beijing and other big cities.

Of course, Weifang cuisine is also one of the reasons that attracts Stephen. He likes Weifang’s meat fire, sesame sauce and Weixian spicy skin. “If you don’t eat it for a few days, you will be greedy.” Stephen said with a smile.
