Introduction to School of Foreign Languages
Tongji Foreign Languages is founded in German. In the autumn of 1907, the German military doctor Erich Baolong founded the “Tongji Dewen Medical Hall”. The school was founded, and it has two subjects: medicine and German. This is also the root of the Tongji foreign language.
Tongji University School of Foreign Languages was established in 1998. In the past two decades, Tongji foreign language has achieved leap-forward development, and the teaching level and scientific research strength have been continuously improved.
The school has held many international and domestic academic conferences with high impact and high level. For example, in August 2015, the 13th International Conference on Germanic Worlds was successfully held. More than 1,200 experts and scholars from 69 countries and regions around the world participated in the event, which became a grand event for Sino-German exchanges and enhanced the German-Chinese academics in international academics.
