Introduction to Suzhou
Suzhou is an important prefecture-level city in Jiangsu Province. It is a National Historical and Cultural City, a Scenic Tourism City. The National High-tech zone is approved by the State Council as one of the important central cities in the Yangtze River Delta. As of 2018, the city has a resident population of 10.72117 million.
Suzhou is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, in the middle of the Yangtze River Delta, east to Shanghai, south to Jiaxing, west to Taihu Lake, and north to the Yangtze River. Suzhou’s GDP ranks seventh in the country and first in Jiangsu Province, making it the only non-capital city in the top 10. Although there is a big gap between Suzhou and the provincial capital of Nanjing in terms of the number and quality of higher education (universities and colleges). But from the perspective of non-capital cities in the country, Suzhou is still in the forefront.

1. Soochow University (211,double first class)
Suzhou University is located in Suzhou, a historical and cultural city known as the “paradise on earth”. It is the first batch of national “211 Project” and “2011 Plan”. It is the “double-class” construction jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. Universities, the National Defense Science and Technology Industry Bureau and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province jointly build colleges and universities, which is a key comprehensive university in Jiangsu Province. 2.Suzhou University of Science and Technology
Suzhou University of Science and Technology was founded in 1932. It has three campuses, namely Shihu, Jiangfeng and Tianping. It was formed by the merger of the Suzhou Urban Construction Environmental Protection College directly under the Ministry of Construction and the Suzhou Railway Teachers College directly under the Ministry of Railways. A full-time undergraduate college with coordinated development of master, engineering, and management. The school has established inter-school cooperation and exchange relations with more than 70 universities and research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions.
3.Changshu Institute of Technology
Changshu Institute of Technology is a full-time undergraduate college in Jiangsu Province. It is the first pilot university for the new round of undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education, the “National Education System Reform” pilot university, and the Ministry of Education “Excellent Engineer Education”. Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is a new international university with the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education and a partnership between Xi’an Jiaotong University and the University of Liverpool. It has independent legal personality and distinctive characteristics. She is a Chinese-foreign cooperative university with a bachelor’s degree in the People’s Republic of China and a degree conferring degree from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. The school is known as “the benchmark for Chinese-foreign cooperative universities” and “the pathfinder for China’s higher education reform”.
5.Duke Kunshan University
Duke Kunshan University is a world-class research-oriented comprehensive university with independent legal status held by Duke University, a leading institution of higher learning in the United States, in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, China. It focuses on elite education and forward-looking research. The Kunshan Municipal Government has invested heavily in providing superior material conditions for the smooth start of DKU. On August 17, 2012, the Chinese Ministry of Education officially approved its preparation; on December 19, 2012, Kunshan Duke University was officially unveiled; on September 17, 2013, the Chinese Ministry of Education officially approved its establishment and enrollment.
6, WenZheng College Of Soochow University
Wenzheng College of Soochow University is a comprehensive independent college in China. It was founded in 1998. 8. Applied Technical School of Soochow University
Applied Technical School of Soochow University is located in Kunshan City, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Its predecessor was the Vocational and Technical College of Suzhou University. It was established in 1997 and is the second-level college of Suzhou University. In January 2002, it was changed from the former public secondary college to the public private secondary college. In November 2003, the college officially changed its name to Suzhou University Applied Technology College. In May 2005, it was sponsored by Suzhou University and approved by the Ministry of Education as the new undergraduate secondary school, the independent college.
9. Suzhou Institute of Technology,Jiangsu University of Science and Technology
Suzhou Institute of Technology,Jiangsu University of Science and Technology was formerly known as Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Nanxu College. In June 2012, it was officially renamed Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Suzhou Institute of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. The college is located in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of about 856 acres, with a total construction area of about 270,000 square meters. The campus has a beautiful environment and a strong academic atmosphere. 10. Suzhou Industrial Park Institute of Vocational Technology
Suzhou Industrial Park Institute of Vocational Technology was founded in December 1997, and was formally approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government to establish a new vocational college with a new cooperation. The new campus of Dushu Lake was officially opened in September 2010. It is located at No. 1 Ruoshui Road, Science and Education Innovation Zone, Dushu Lake, Suzhou Industrial Park.
