Currently, there are more than 3,000 foreigners resident in Nantong, including about 500 international students.
Nantong Foreign Affairs Office and Municipal Party Committee’s Foreign Propaganda Office often hold cultural exchange activities between China and foreign countries. The purpose of the activity is to enhance foreign friends’ understanding of Nantong’s intangible heritage culture and increase their identification with the second hometown.
Foreign friends from 15 countries including the United States, Canada, Norway and Namibia participated in various activities. Foreign friends said that after living in Nantong for a period of time, they realized that Nantong is an open, tolerant and happy city. Traditional Chinese culture is fascinating, and they will be happy to introduce Chinese culture to family and friends.
