Quzhou University Holds Spring Festival Event for Foreign Teachers and Students

Recently, Quzhou University organized a Spring Festival event for foreign teachers and students staying on campus, aiming to enrich their cultural experiences. Zheng Wenshan, the vice president, teachers from the International Office, and over 10 foreign teachers and students gathered to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Snake.

Vice President Zheng Wenshan emphasized that the Spring Festival is one of China’s most significant traditional festivals. The event serves a dual purpose: it demonstrates the university’s care for foreign teachers and students and offers them an opportunity to deeply understand Chinese culture. He hopes that these individuals will act as bridges between China and their home countries, contributing to cultural exchange. At the end, he extended New Year wishes to everyone present.

The dumpling – making activity, held in the cafeteria, was a lively affair. With guidance from teachers and cafeteria staff, foreign participants shared their home countries’ food cultures and their knowledge of Chinese Spring Festival customs while making dumplings. As variously – shaped dumplings took form, they carried everyone’s hopes for the new year, filling the cafeteria with a warm, festive atmosphere.

The fun games segment further energized the event. Competitions like table tennis transportation and peanut picking with chopsticks brought the excitement to a peak. The contagious atmosphere was filled with cheering and laughter, making the Spring Festival spirit even more palpable through these interactive activities.

This Spring Festival event not only immersed foreign teachers and students in the rich Chinese New Year atmosphere and joy but also enhanced mutual understanding and friendship through interaction and cooperation, fostering a more open and diverse campus cultural environment.
