The Institute of Disaster Prevention (IDP), an arm of the China Earthquake Administration, is the only higher education institute in China focused on disaster prevention, reduction and relief. Established in 1975, it enrolls students from all over the country. Currently, there are more than 8600 full-time students.

Specializing in the field of disaster prevention and reduction and geared to the needs of emergency management and economic and social development, IDP has developed a multi-level modern education system offering undergraduate, postgraduate, adult continuing education programs as well as vocational training.

Job Information:

A foreign language teacher candidate is supposed to teach his/her mother tongue and hold a bachelor’s degree or above issued by a mother-tongue speaking country and have two years of language teaching experience.

Those with an academic degree of education, language or teacher-training oriented major can be exempt from work experience requirement.

Those with a teacher certification from the native country or a TEFL/TESOL certificate (issued by a Foreign Experts Bureau in China or authentic institutions abroad recognized by The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China) can be exempt from work experience requirement.

Salary and Benefits Package:

• RMB13,600 for Bachelor degree, RMB18,400 for Master degree, PhD (Negotiable); overtime pay: 70 RMB per hour
• Teaching hours :12 hours per week
• Accommodation: A private furnished apartment with two bedrooms, one living room will be provided on school campus.
