The School of Foreign Languages of Northwest Normal University held a working meeting for foreign teachers.

On April 28, 2025, the School of Foreign Languages held a working meeting for foreign teachers in Conference Room 821 of Zhipu Building. Chen Xingjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Li Li, Deputy Dean of the School, directors of the English Department, Translation Department, Russian Department, Arabic Department, Japanese Department, Korean Department, the foreign affairs secretary, and ten foreign teachers from seven countries attended the meeting.

On behalf of the school, Secretary Chen Xingjie expressed heartfelt gratitude to the foreign teachers for their hard work and responsible attitude, and fully affirmed the important contributions made by the foreign teachers in improving the school’s teaching quality and broadening students’ international horizons. At the same time, Secretary Chen put forward relevant requirements to all foreign teachers, emphasizing compliance with all rules and regulations of the school and the school, and ensuring the standardization and orderliness of teaching work. Deputy Dean Li Li communicated with the foreign teachers about the matters needing attention in classroom teaching, emphasizing specific matters such as classroom discipline management, teaching progress control, and student interaction and feedback.

It is worth mentioning that this meeting specially adopted two forms of interpretation, simultaneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation. Teachers from the School of Foreign Languages translated the speeches of Secretary Chen and Deputy Dean Li in real time for the foreign teachers, effectively ensuring the accuracy and smoothness of information transmission, and demonstrating the solid language skills and professional translation level of the teachers in the School of Foreign Languages.

The purpose of this meeting is to further strengthen the communication and exchange between the School of Foreign Languages and foreign teachers, understand the problems and needs encountered by foreign teachers in teaching work, and listen to their opinions and suggestions on the development of the school. The school will continue to uphold an open and inclusive attitude, work hand in hand with excellent teachers from all over the world, and jointly strive to cultivate high-quality talents with international perspectives and cross-cultural communication abilities.
