Introduction to Zhongshan College of Dalian Medical University

Zhongshan College of Dalian Medical University (大连医科大学中山学院, website) was founded in July 1999. In March 2004, it was recognized as an independent college by the Ministry of Education. In January 2007, it was co-organized by Dalian Medical University and Dalian Jinzhenyuan Group.

Zhongshan College of Dalian Medical University is located at 28 Aixian Street, Dalian High-tech Zone. It covers an area of 738.1169 acres and a building area of 217,500 square meters. It has complete teaching facilities, advanced supporting facilities, and comprehensive information construction. There are 129 laboratories, 562,000 books, and 33,200 square meters of sports ground. The total value of fixed assets is 938 million yuan.

The college faces Liaoning, Beijing, Tianjin, Guizhou, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jilin, Henan, Hebei, Fujian, Anhui, Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Xinjiang and other countries23 Provinces (cities, districts) enrollment.

The college currently has 20 undergraduate majors, covering 5 disciplines including engineering, management, medicine, education, and art. Among them, the nursing major has been evaluated as a specialty of the undergraduate specialty in Liaoning Province, a pilot major in comprehensive reform and a pilot major in transformation and development. The management major was evaluated as a pilot major for the transformation and development of Liaoning Province.

Zhongshan College of Dalian Medical University relies on Dalian Medical University’s strong faculty and abundant educational resources, and adopts a new mechanism to form a high-quality full-time and part-time teacher team. There are 375 full-time teachers, including 74 professors and 135 associate professors. The college has 8 provincial teachers.

Zhongshan College of Dalian Medical University has established a comprehensive, design practice and experimental teaching system for professional training goals, and has systematically established comprehensive experimental teaching centers and teaching bases for clinical skills, basic medicine, stomatology, and computers. The college has two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and one virtual simulation experimental teaching center; two provincial-level quality resource sharing courses; and six provincial out-of-school practical education bases. Approved as a Liaoning University Student Mental Health Education Demonstration School and Liaoning University Student Entrepreneurship Incubation Demonstration Base. The college has a mental health education center for college students, a quality development center, a gymnasium, and a standard stadium. The college attaches great importance to the cultivation of students’ innovation and entrepreneurship, and incorporates innovation and entrepreneurship education into the entire process of talent training.

In recent years, Zhongshan College of Dalian Medical University has obtained a total of 473 national and provincial quality improvement projects, and has accumulated a total of 2.174 million yuan in construction funds. Among them, there are 7 national-level collaborative education programs; 26 provincial and municipal outstanding teaching achievement awards; 103 education and teaching reforms and scientific research projects; 258 national and provincial university student innovation and entrepreneurship training programs; 258 students; Participated in 78 national and provincial innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, including gold medals in the first “Internet +” university student innovation and entrepreneurship competition, Liaoning province’s first undergraduate nursing skills competition, second place overall score, college students “Cup” enterprise business simulation sand table contest national second prize (Liaoning region special prize).

The college actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, and has launched a project for nursing students to study in Japan with the International Medical Welfare and Human Resources Development Institution of Japan. It has laid a good foundation for improving the reputation of the school and expanding the channels for running the school.
