Introduction to Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College

Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College is a provincial public-funded full-time institution of higher learning organized by Hangzhou Iron and Steel Group Corporation. The school’s predecessor was the Wenzhou Power Machinery Factory Technical School, which was established in September 1960. In July 1965, it was renamed as Wenzhou Metallurgical Machinery Repair and Manufacturing Plant. In September 1978, Zhejiang Metallurgical Technical School was established. In May 1980, it was renamed as Zhejiang Metallurgical Machinery Technical School. In May 1997, the name of “Zhejiang Experimental Technical School” was added. In February 1999, it was rebuilt into “Zhejiang First Advanced Technical School”; in December 1999, the school and Wenzhou Metallurgical Machinery Factory jointly reformed and established Zhejiang Industry and Trade Vocational Technical College.

Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College is located in Wenzhou, with two campuses of Fudong Road and Minjiangkou, covering an area of more than 1,100 acres. The school has more than 10,000 full-time students, more than 700 faculty and staff. It has a branch of economics and trade (co-signed with Wenzhou Modern Logistics College), a branch of management, a branch of information and media (partnered with Wenzhou Cultural and Creative College), and Mechanical engineering branch, design branch (co-administration with Wenzhou Intellectual Property Institute), electronic engineering department, material engineering department, humanities department, sports development center (co-administration with Wenzhou Tennis Academy), adult education college and technician college, and other teaching units, and Wenzhou Research and social service institutions such as the Electronic Information Research Institute, Modern Manufacturing and Advanced Materials R & D Center, Regional Cultural Research Center, and Entrepreneurship Institute. The school now has 36 higher vocational majors, including 1 national specialty major, 2 central financial support construction majors, 3 provincial key majors, 4 provincial demonstration construction majors, 5 provincial superiority majors, and provincial characteristic majors. 10. Hosted two national professional teaching resource libraries, two national quality courses, two national quality resource sharing courses, one national quality online open course, 19 provincial quality courses, and 15 provincial quality online open courses.

Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College has always adhered to the fundamental mission of establishing people in Germany, based in Wenzhou, facing Zhejiang, and radiating the whole country. It continues to improve the quality of talent training, strives to cultivate the comprehensive development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor, has innovative entrepreneurship, and can adapt to economic and social development Demand for high-level technical skills. From 2014 to 2017, in the survey of the quality of graduates’ career development and talent training in Zhejiang Province, the school ranked first in the province’s 47 higher vocational colleges three times and once second. In the evaluation of teaching performance of ordinary colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province from 2013 to 2016, the school has been in the forefront of higher vocational colleges and universities in the province, and has entered a class A square matrix. In 2016, the school’s four-year higher vocational education talent training pilot was approved and enrollment began.
