Introduction to Zhaotong Health Vocational College
Zhaotong Health Vocational College (昭通卫生职业学院, website) was approved by the Yunnan Provincial Government in March 2016, and was approved by the Ministry of Education in April. It was the first batch of enrollment in September. Zhaotong Health Vocational College is the only vocational college in Zhaotong and surrounding areas that specializes in medical vocational education. The college is headed by the Zhaotong Municipal People’s Government. Its business is guided by the provincial and municipal departments of education and health. It implements the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the party committee. There are now 18 high (medium) vocational majors (11 majors in three-year full-time colleges: Chinese medicine, nursing, midwifery, medical examination technology, rehabilitation treatment technology, public health management, elderly health care and management, eye vision technology, Pharmacy, medical cosmetology technology, medical imaging technology; four majors of five-year college: nursing, midwifery, medical examination technology, rehabilitation therapy technology; three majors of three-year technical college: nursing, midwifery, rural medicine). The state-controlled clinical medicine specialty and acupuncture and massage specialty are being declared. The college has three experimental training centers for basic medicine, clinical skills, and nursing skills, with a building area of 21,862 square meters. The second phase of the college includes a second teaching building, a third experimental training building, and a library, covering an area of 31056.1 square meters. The college has 2 affiliated hospitals, 2 teaching hospitals, and 33 internship bases.
Zhaotong Health Vocational College currently has 29 internal department-level institutions (including 15 party and government management institutions, 12 teaching institutions, and 2 auxiliary teaching institutions); there are 282 faculty members (including 7 non-staff full-time counselors), There are 229 full-time teachers (71 with senior titles, 33 with intermediate titles, and 125 with junior titles), 96 dual-teacher teachers, and 56 graduate students. As of now, there are 6,989 students in the hospital (including 3,248 three-year colleges, 479 five-year colleges, 2,609 three-year colleges, and 653 adult education).
In recent years, the party and government of the academy have led the school’s teachers and students to pioneer and innovate, and have been aggressive. They have won the Provincial Safe Campus, the Provincial Drug Prevention Demonstration School, and the Yunnan Provincial Committee for Ethnic Religious Affairs. Provincial advanced unit for recruiting, the second prize of the group in the “Tianyan Cup” medical and nursing skills competition in the province, the first place in the three group projects of the province’s college vocational college campus sports dance competition, Zhaotong 2017 Party Building, Party Style Honor Award for Outstanding Integrity Construction, First Prize for Assessment of Educational Goals, Municipal Party Education Demonstration Project, Municipal Outstanding Education System Responsibility System for Party Building and Clean Government Construction in 2018. College teachers have won more than 100 honors including “advanced workers in anti-drug education”, ideological and political theory teaching competitions in Yunnan Province, and the provincial moral education innovation cup teaching design and lecture awards; more than 60 students including Shen Degang and He Yonglu Respectively won the provincial “three good students”, provincial outstanding student cadres, the thirteenth Yunnan provincial college student annual person nomination award, provincial outstanding graduates and other honors. On behalf of Yunnan Province, Ma Sidan participated in the nursing skills competition of the secondary vocational group in the 2019 National Vocational College Skills Competition and won the third prize of the national individual.
