Introduction to Yunnan Water Resources and Hydropower Vocational College
Yunnan Water Resources and Hydropower Vocational College (云南水利水电职业学院, website) is a public full-time general institution of higher learning established in 2016 with the approval of the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Education. On the 25th, the affiliation of the college was adjusted from a public institution affiliated to the Yunnan Water Resources Department to a public institution affiliated to the Yunnan Education Department.

The college was established in 1956. In the course of more than 60 years of school running, it has accumulated more than 30,000 graduates for social training. In October 2016, with the approval of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Yunnan Water Resources and Hydropower School was integrated into the Yunnan Water Resources and Hydropower Vocational College as a whole.
The college has two campuses, Fumin Campus and Lanlongtan Campus, with a total area of nearly 700 acres and a total construction area of nearly 210,000 square meters. It has four departments: water conservancy engineering, power engineering, construction engineering, and engineering management. And perfect education and teaching facilities and equipment.
The college adheres to the purpose of service, employment-oriented, and aims at the water conservancy and hydropower industry, grassroots level, serving the “Xingshui strong Yunnan” and the national “Belt and Road” strategy, with water conservancy and hydropower majors as the leading and characteristic, relying on Yunnan Water Conservancy and Hydropower Vocational Education Group follows the road of school-industrial integration, school-enterprise cooperation, and actively explores and innovates the vocational talent training model of “getting, staying, and doing well”, focusing on training the construction, operation, and management of water conservancy and hydropower First-line high-quality technical and skilled personnel. It has been awarded as “National Water Conservancy Civilization Unit” and “Civilized School of Yunnan Province” for many years. In 2014, it was appraised as “Advanced Collective of National Education System”. The large investment and rapid development of the water conservancy and hydropower industry has a very strong and urgent need for application-oriented talents. The initial employment rate of graduates of Yunnan Water Resources and Hydropower Vocational College has remained above 95% for many years.
