Xuzhou Vocational College of Bioengineering was founded in 1956. The college is under the management of the People’s Government of Xuzhou City and the only vocational college of bioengineering in Jiangsu Province.
The school covers an area of 615 acres, with a building area of 232,000 square meters, teaching and research equipment and equipment worth 50 million yuan, and 343,000 copies of paper books. There are 108 experimental training bases (training rooms) on campus, 1 Xuzhou Key Laboratory (Modern Agricultural Biotechnology Laboratory) and 12 Xuzhou Engineering Technology Research Centers (Modern Biotechnology, Aquatic Products, Biopharmaceuticals and Waste Comprehensive utilization of materials, landscape gardening, green plant protection, biopharmaceuticals, animal diseases, animal husbandry, green and clean composite solder, drug testing, agricultural Internet of Things, microelectronic speakers).
Xuzhou Vocational College of Bioengineering has 6 professional departments: Department of Agriculture and Forestry Engineering, Department of Animal Engineering, Department of Bioengineering, Department of Financial Information, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Medical Nursing, 3 Teaching Departments of Basic, Ideological and Political, and Sports. College of Continuing Education. There are 323 faculty members, including 234 full-time teachers. There are 8 professors, 88 associate professors, 9 doctors, 162 postgraduate teachers, and 160 “dual teacher” teachers. There are 6 well-known agricultural vocational teachers nationwide, 7 candidates for the third level of the “333 Project” in Jiangsu Province, 2 outstanding academic leaders of the “Blue Project” in Jiangsu universities, 13 outstanding young and middle-aged key teachers, and Xuzhou ” “Double Hundred Project” 3 outstanding experts, 7 top talents.
The school has 26 three-year higher vocational majors and 15 five-year higher vocational majors in line with regional industrial development. A professional structure with strong advantages in agriculture and animal husbandry, medical and nursing majors in biotechnology, and strong support in finance, electrical and mechanical majors has been formed. There are 2 central financial support majors (animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, garden technology), 1 key professional group in Jiangsu Province (biotechnology and application professional group), 1 high-level backbone professional in Jiangsu Province (animal husbandry and veterinary medicine), and 3 lead services in Xuzhou. “Four 100 billion yuan industry” key majors (horticulture, gardens, bio-pharmaceuticals), two Xuzhou special needs professional construction projects (pharmaceutical biotechnology, food biotechnology), 5000 students.
