Introduction to Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology
Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (website) is located in the historical and cultural city of Xi’an. It has two campuses, Yanta and Caotang, and a science and education industrial park. Yanta Campus overlooks the famous Dayan Pagoda in the south and the world-famous Ming Dynasty ancient city wall in the north. The Caotang Campus is located on the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains and is adjacent to the thousand-year-old Caotang Temple. In the south, the beautifully-looking Xiong Ecological Park lies in the east; the two campuses and industrial parks occupy a total area of more than 4,300 acres.
The university is one of the first units of the State Council to be authorized to confer doctoral, master, and bachelor’s degrees. The school has 3 national key disciplines (structural engineering, environmental engineering, architectural design and theory).
The university currently has 20 colleges and 63 undergraduate majors. Four majors including architecture, urban and rural planning, landscape architecture, and historical building protection engineering are five-year program, and all other undergraduate majors are four-year courses. Nine majors are national specialties, and 15 majors are provincial specialties.
Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology currently has more than 34,000 students, including more than 19,000 full-time undergraduates, more than 7,800 graduate students, and nearly 70 foreign students. The university currently has more than 2,800 faculty members, including more than 1,700 full-time teachers.
In the past 60 years, the university has taken root in the western part of the country. It has sent more than 270,000 talents and talents for the country’s construction, and has become an important training base for national talents in civil construction, environmental management and materials metallurgy.
