Wuxi Institute of Technology is a state-owned and public full-time higher vocational college located in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. The school’s predecessor was the Wuxi Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing School established by the former Ministry of Agricultural Machinery in March 1959; it was renamed the Wuxi Machinery Manufacturing School of Jiangsu Province in March 1979; it was upgraded to an ordinary higher vocational school with the approval of the Ministry of Education in July 1999 and was renamed Wuxi Vocational Institute of Technology, under the Education Department of Jiangsu Province. The school is one of the first batch of “National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges”. In 2012, it began to test-run four-year vocational undergraduate education to train undergraduate-level technical and technical personnel.
