Introduction to Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs

Established in 2002 by the People’s Government of Hubei Province, Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs (WHFLFA) is the first high-level vocational college in the central region of China to train advanced technical and skilled professionals with foreign language expertise.

Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs is located on the shores of the beautiful East Lake, enjoying the scenery of the lake and mountains, enjoying the beautiful scenery of Wuhan’s famous scenic spot “East Lake Greenway”. The Wuhan Railway Station is adjacent to the north of the campus. The high-speed rail, subway and public transportation are all covered, which is especially convenient. The campus covers an area of more than 480 acres, with a construction area of more than 300,000 square meters, and complete teaching and living facilities. The total value of teaching equipment is more than 32 million yuan, and the library has a collection of more than 630,000 books and more than 1 million e-books.

At present, Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs has a total of 35 majors, among which the “High-speed Railway Passenger Transport” major is a special specialty of Hubei Province, and the “Travel English” major is a key specialty of Wuhan. Admission to the whole country, more than 7,000 students.

Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs pays attention to cultivating students’ practical ability, creating superior practical training conditions for students, building more than 50 experimental training rooms in the school, and more than 170 internship and employment bases. In order to create a good language learning environment, the college has also built a full-featured multilingual foreign language autonomous learning center (including more than 400 open foreign language independent learning rooms, simultaneous interpretation training room, teaching and recording hall, teaching and filming). Observation hall, overseas radio and television satellite receiving station, etc.).

There are more than 400 teachers in the college, and more than 80% of the teachers have master’s degrees or above. In order to strengthen foreign language teaching and reflect the characteristics of international education, Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs has hired more than 10 full-time foreign teachers from the United States, Britain, Australia, Japan, South Korea and other countries to teach foreign languages.

Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs cooperates with universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Spain and other countries and Taiwan. Students can choose to send to the above-mentioned colleges for short-term exchanges during their studies. After graduation, they can apply to the above-mentioned cooperative colleges for further study. Undergraduate and Master’s degree, more than 300 students have gone through the international cooperation in running schools to go abroad and upgrade their academic qualifications.

Wuhan (Panorama) is the capital of Hubei province, China, and is the most populous city in Central China. it is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city and connecting to other major cities. Because of its key role in domestic transportation, Wuhan was sometimes referred to as “the Chicago of China” by foreign sources.

Wuhan is recognized as the political, economic, financial, cultural, educational and transportation center of central China. Wuhan has the largest lake within a city in China, the East Lake, as well as the South Lake. In the spring time the shores of East Lake become a garden of flowers with the Mei blossoms as the king and the Cherry Blossom as the queen among the species. Another famous flower is the lotus. The lake has a long history and especially the Chu Kingdom is well represented around East Lake. At East Lake you find fascinating gardens like the Mei Blossom Garden, Forest of the Birds, Cherry Blossom Garden and monuments from ancient times, beautiful hills and green nature. Moreover, in the Moshan Botanic Garden there are many types of plum blossoms, as well as lotus flowers.

Food

Wuhan food is generally a mix of Shanghai, Chongqing and Sichuan cuisines,therefore it is absolutely a wonderful place for tourists who haven’t got enough time to travel. There are a variety of snacks, for instance, the succulent, spicy duck’s neck, dumplings, hot and dry noodles (re gan mian), chili-spiced pigeons, the delicious and often squirty soup buns (tang bao), salty doughnuts (mian wo) or doupi (sticky rice, egg, beef, mushrooms and beans wrapped in a pocket of soy skin). Take an opportunity to eat, gorge or snack.

Weather

Wuhan has a warm sea climate with very moist, hot summers. It can get very hot in summer. They say Wuhan belongs to one of the three ovens in China. Winters are pretty mild. The temperature rarely drops below freezing and it snows occasionally.
