Wenzheng College of Soochow University (苏州大学文正学院, website) was born under the background of the great reform and development of China’s higher education. She is the product of Suzhou University’s active promotion of educational innovation, bold exploration and practice of a new path for the diversified development of higher education.
The college was established in December 1998 with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial Education Commission. It was a publicly-owned private second-level college, and was approved to become an independent college in 2005. In August 2012, with the approval of the provincial government, the college took the lead in registering a private non-enterprise as a legal entity in an independent college in the province.
The college is located in the ancient city of Suzhou. It sits on the Upper Mountain National Forest Park and the Shihu Scenic Area, which is called “Looking at the Moon at Midnight”. It has rich historical and cultural resources and a strong culture of respecting teachers and teaching.
