Weifang Vocational College (潍坊职业学院, website) is a public full-time general vocational college established in July 2001 with the approval of the People’s Government of Shandong Province. In recent years, the college has conscientiously implemented the Party ’s education policy and General Secretary Xi Jinping ’s important expositions on education, adhered to the school-oriented orientation of “market-oriented, service-oriented development, and promoted employment”, fully implemented the fundamental tasks of Lide Shuren, and focused on improving the quality of talent training. Weifang Vocational College is located in the world’s kite capital, Weifang, Shandong Province. It is divided into two campuses, Binhai and Kuiwen. The campus covers an area of over 2,000 acres, with a building area of 470,000 square meters. The library has more than 1.1 million volumes. 54 higher vocational majors were set up, 3 “3 + 2” higher vocational undergraduate majors were jointly organized with 3 universities, and 17 five-year higher vocational majors were held in cooperation with 29 secondary vocational schools. There are more than 20,000 full-time students, including 17,000 students in general vocational schools.
Weifang Vocational College currently has 960 faculty members, including 36 senior professional and technical positions, 240 deputy senior professional and technical positions, and 579 doctoral and master degrees. Among the full-time teachers, there are 1 teaching master of the “Ten Thousand Talents Program”, 1 teaching master of colleges and universities, 1 Taishan scholar, 9 teaching masters of provincial universities, and employs more than 50 industrial professors. Has two national teaching teams, eight provincial teaching teams, five provincial teacher studios. More than 100 person-times have won honorary titles such as outstanding teachers at the municipal level and top-notch professionals.
Weifang Vocational College continuously deepens teaching reforms and implements the talent training model of “integration of production and education and integration of academic posts”. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with more than 800 companies including Weichai, Haier, Goer, Beiqi Foton, etc. The school and enterprise jointly established 7 industrial colleges and 13 professional majors. Lead the establishment of Shandong Agriculture and Forestry Vocational Education Group and Weifang Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Vocational Education Group, Chemical Vocational Education Group, and Modern Logistics Vocational Education Group. Among them, the Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Vocational Education Group is a provincial backbone vocational education group. Weifang Vocational College was selected as the first batch of higher vocational colleges in Shandong Province for credit system management. 17 projects have been identified by the Ministry of Education’s “Higher Vocational Education Innovation Action Plan” project, of which, 9 key majors, 3 productive training bases, 1 dual teacher training base, 3 collaborative innovation centers, 1 skill Master Studio. There are 3 high-level professional groups in higher vocational education in Shandong Province, 2 brand professional groups in Shandong Province, and 7 characteristic specialties in Shandong Province. Preside over and participate in the construction of 8 national and provincial vocational education specialty teaching resource banks. In recent years, it has won 3 national teaching achievement awards and 25 provincial teaching achievement awards. Awarded China’s typical model base of innovation and entrepreneurship and Shandong’s typical university of innovation and entrepreneurship experience. The college has achieved outstanding results in various professional competitions at all levels. Among them, it has won 78 medals (including 27 gold medals) in the National Vocational College Skills Competition and the “Outstanding Contribution Award in the National Vocational College Skills Competition.”
Weifang Vocational College has extensively carried out student associations, social practices, and themed education activities, vigorously implemented the “Seven Ones” project for improving humanistic literacy among college students, the training project for young Marxists, promoted the core values of socialism, and guided students to improve science, humanistic literacy, and labor. Weifang Vocational College has carried out cooperation and exchanges with more than 60 universities (organizations) abroad, sending 10 batches of students to study abroad and studying abroad, and introduced more than 50 foreign teachers. There are more than 180 foreign students. Four batches of agricultural experts were sent to the Democratic Republic of Congo to undertake the project of aid to Africa by the Ministry of Commerce. In Pakistan, Congo (Kingdom) and other established countries (foreign), there are 3 foreign schools. Established the Sino-German Weisa Institute, introducing advanced concepts and teaching standards of German vocational education; conducting exchange student programs and study tours with Korean universities. The college has been selected into the “Top 50 International Influence” list of vocational colleges in China for three consecutive years.
