Introduction to University of Electronic Science and Technology of China

University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (电子科技大学, website) is located in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, formerly known as Chengdu Telecommunications Engineering College. It was deployed by Premier Zhou Enlai in 1956. It was developed by Jiaotong University (now Shanghai Jiaotong University and Xi’an Jiaotong University) and Nanjing Institute of Technology ( Telecommunication engineering related majors from South China University of Technology) and South China University of Technology (now South China University of Technology) were merged and created.

The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China was listed as a national key university by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1960, and was designated as one of the seven national defense industrial colleges by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1960. Approved as a key university for the “211 Project” construction, it was transferred from the former director of the Ministry of Information Industry to the director of the Ministry of Education in 2000. Ranks of universities. After more than 60 years of construction, the school has formed a multi-level and multi-type talent training pattern from undergraduate to master’s degree and doctoral degree. A multi-disciplinary research university with a coordinated development of science, engineering, management, culture, and medicine.

The university has three campuses, Qingshuihe, Shahe, and Jiulidi, covering an area of more than 4,100 acres. It has a modern digital library with a wealth of collections and a number of modern stadiums with full facilities. The four seasons of the campus are lush with trees, the lake is blue and the waves are elegant, and the building is elegant and heavy. It is a good environment for cultivating sentiment and studying.

The University adheres to the student-centeredness and the combination of general education and professionalism, and takes the six-in-one concept of “value shaping, inspiring thoughts, arousing curiosity, inspiring potential, exploring knowledge, and personality development” as its training philosophy, and is committed to fostering family-oriented feelings, global literacy, and comprehensive knowledge. With the ability to integrate and innovate, the future can lead the academic frontier, science and technology, and socio-economic development. It can be regarded as an innovative leading talent for national revival. The school has 23 colleges (departments) and 63 undergraduate majors, of which 13 are national specialty specialties. There are currently more than 19,800 full-time undergraduate students, more than 11,000 graduate students, and more than 2,000 doctoral students. The employment rate of students has been maintained at over 96%, and the undergraduate postgraduate education rate has exceeded 2/3, and the overseas study rate has exceeded 1/5. Chengdian students are widely distributed at home and abroad, and have been widely praised by all sectors of society and employers for their distinctive characteristics such as comprehensive quality, solid professional knowledge, strong ability, and stamina.

The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China attaches great importance to the cultivation of students’ innovative and practical ability, and supports and encourages students to actively participate in scientific and technological innovation, culture and arts, and social practice activities.
