Introduction to Tianjin University

Tianjin University (website) , referred to as Tianda, was formerly known as Beiyang University. It was founded on October 2, 1895. It is the first modern university in China. Tianjin University is now a high-level research-based university with strong faculty, distinctive academic characteristics, first-class education quality and scientific research level and great influence in the world.

Tianjin University has Weijin Road Campus, Beiyangyuan Campus and Binhai Industrial Research College. The Weijin Road Campus covers a total area of 1.362 million square meters, the Beiyangyuan Campus covers a total area of 2.436 million square meters, and the Binhai Industrial Research Institute covers a total area of 309,000 square meters. The school has 35,370 full-time students, including 18,536 undergraduates, 12,572 postgraduates, and 4,262 doctoral students. The school has signed agreements with 232 universities, research institutes and companies in 45 countries and 3 regions of the world.
