Sichuan University of Arts and Science (四川文理学院, website) is located in Dazhou, eastern Sichuan. Its history dates back to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Longshan College began to host higher education in 1976, when it was called Daxian Teachers College. In 1978, it was approved by the State Council as a full-time ordinary college and successively changed its name to Daxian Teachers College and Daxian Teachers College. Approved by the Ministry of Education to become an undergraduate college in February 2006, it is currently the only provincial undergraduate college in Sichuan province. In 2016, it was identified as a “Sichuan Province University’s Overall Transformation and Development Pilot Unit” and in 2018 it was added as a “Sichuan Province Master Degree Authorized Project Construction Unit”.
Sichuan University of Arts and Science has two campuses of Lianhu and Nanba, covering an area of 1071.5 acres (1000 acres of Lianhu campus and 71.5 acres of Nanba campus). The library has more than 1.443 million paper books, more than 450,000 electronic books, more than 670 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and more than 89 million yuan in teaching and research equipment. In the early 1980s, Ms. Ouyang De, a professor at Michigan State University, visited the Sichuan University of Arts and Science for the first time, opening the school’s external exchanges. Since then, nearly a hundred foreign experts, foreign university presidents, teachers and students have visited and exchanged with the school. More than 30 foreign teachers from the United States, Canada, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Australia, and South Korea have successively taught at the school. In the year, there are currently 10 foreign experts and teachers teaching in the school. The introduction of high-quality foreign intelligence has made positive contributions to expanding the perspective of studying international education, promoting education and teaching reform, and enhancing students’ international communication ability and cross-cultural quality.
Sichuan University of Arts and Science actively explores the international perspective of education, and has established cooperation and exchange relationships with more than 10 universities in the United States, Britain, France, Australia, Czech Republic, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and other countries. It sends students to Caotang University, University of Paratsky, Northern University, University of Putra, Swansea University, etc. as exchange students and exchange students. Students with excellent academic quality are recommended to pay internships and master’s degrees in the United States. In 2014, it began to recruit international students, and a total of 105 foreign students were enrolled. The current number of students is 72.
