Introduction to Panzhihua University
Panzhihua University (攀枝花学院, website) is the only comprehensive undergraduate college in the southwestern Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan province where the Ministry of Education is located. The school is located in the famous vanadium and titanium capital, Sunshine Flower City, Kangyang Resort, Sichuan’s southward opening gateway, and the only outstanding tourist city named after flowers in China-Panzhihua City.
Panzhihua University was founded in 1983, merged with Panzhihua Education College in 1994, and merged with Panzhihua Health School of Sichuan Province in 1998. In 2001, it was converted into an undergraduate college and approved by the Ministry of Education and renamed as Panzhihua College. The whole was placed under the school, and it was added as a bachelor’s degree granting unit in 2005. In 2007, Panzhihua Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital was placed under the management of the school as a direct-affiliated hospital. Now it covers an area of 815,200 square meters, the school building covers an area of 504,600 square meters, the total value of fixed assets is 758 million yuan, the collection of books is 3.854 million (paper books, 1.308 million volumes), and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 244 million yuan. It consists of 20 teaching units, 3 scientific research units, 7 teaching and auxiliary units, 16 departments of the party and government groups, 2 subordinate legal entities, and 1 directly-affiliated hospital of the top three (Panzhihua Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital).
Panzhihua University is a nationwide 100 application-based undergraduate production-education integration development project construction university. It has 58 undergraduate majors and 41 specialized majors, and its professional settings cover science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, medicine, art, agriculture The nine disciplines have formed a school-based structure that is based on work, is multi-disciplinary compatible, and has a coordinated development of general higher education, higher vocational education, vocational education, and adult higher education. The faculty is strong and talented. Panzhihua University currently has nearly 17,000 full-time undergraduate students, graduate students, and international students, and 1,186 students in technical secondary schools and technical schools. In recent years, both the undergraduate graduation rate and degree award rate have remained above 90%, and the employer satisfaction rate has remained above 96%. Panzhihua University is an intellectual property advantage cultivation unit in Sichuan Province, the first batch of pilot universities in Sichuan to spur innovation and entrepreneurship in science and technology, and a pilot unit in Sichuan to reform mixed ownership of scientific and technological achievements. Panzhihua University has established cooperative relationships with foreign universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Thailand, Malaysia, and other domestic universities such as Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Southwest University, and Sichuan University of Light and Chemical Technology in teaching, research, and graduate education. . Successfully developed bagasse planting ganoderma lucidum, monkey head, truffles and other efficient utilization technologies, and “Panxi Sanbao” series of health products using maca, truffles, cordyceps as the main raw materials. A school-land cooperation model based on the “Panzhihua County Development Forum” has been established. In recent years, it has undertaken more than 40 government-trusted projects and consulting projects. A total of 15,871 graduates of adult higher education were delivered.
