Introduction to Ningxia Medical University
Ningxia Medical University (宁夏医科大学, website) was formerly Ningxia Medical College, established in 1958. In 1962 it was renamed the Department of Medicine of Ningxia University. In 1972, Shanghai Railway Medical College relocated to Yinchuan, and merged with Ningxia University’s Medical Department to rebuild Ningxia Medical College. In 2002, Ningxia Health School and Ningxia Nurses School were merged into Ningxia Medical College. In August 2008, the school was renamed Ningxia Medical University. In 2014, Ningxia Normal University School of Medicine was merged into Ningxia Medical University, and the school has become the only medical higher education institution in Ningxia.
The school is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Health and Health Commission, and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. There are more than 5,600 faculty and medical staff (including the directly affiliated hospitals), including 905 full-time teachers and 723 deputy or higher titles. There are 1 academician with dual appointments, 51 doctoral supervisors and 660 master supervisors. There are 9293 full-time students, including 1985 doctoral and master degree students and 323 international students. There are two campuses of Yanhu and Shuangyi, covering a total area of 1700 acres. It has 13 teaching institutions, 13 teaching and research institutions, 12 affiliated hospitals, 20 teaching hospitals, more than 70 internship hospitals and practical teaching. base.
Ningxia Medical University has 3 disciplines of medicine, science and management, 22 undergraduate majors, of which clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, preventive medicine, nursing, pharmacy are national specialty specialty, 9 are autonomous region-level specialty specialty. There are 2 national teaching teams and 11 autonomous region teaching teams. There are 2 national experimental teaching demonstration centers and 9 autonomous regional experimental teaching demonstration centers.
The school has 3 first-level discipline doctoral degree granting points, 1 doctoral degree awarding point, 9 first-level degree masters degree awarding points, and 6 professional master degree awarding points. There are 8 key disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 5 key disciplines at the autonomous region level, and 4 predominant and characteristic disciplines at the autonomous region level. There are 1 national key laboratory cultivation base jointly established by the Ministry of Science and Technology, 2 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 5 key laboratories at the autonomous region level, and 2 engineering technology research centers at the autonomous region.
