Ningde Vocational and Technical College (宁德职业技术学院, website) was established in 2005 with the approval of the Fujian Provincial People’s Government and was filed by the Ministry of Education. It is the only higher vocational college in Mindong that is hosted by the Ningde Municipal People’s Government. Ningde Agricultural School and Fu’an Teachers School, founded in 1939, have a rich history of 85 years. In 1935, the old principal of the tea industry, Zhang Tianfu, wrote the school motto “Practical and practical,” and established the school’s school management philosophy and spirit. He has trained and introduced a large number of contemporary experts and scholars, leading cadres and educators, such as Wu Zhenduo, the father of tea, Guo Jichun, a national tea tree breeding expert, and so on.
Ningde Vocational and Technical College covers an area of more than 500 acres. There are more than 300 faculty members, of which 33.73% are full-time teachers with titles of associate senior and higher. There are 8 teaching units including the Department of Biotechnology, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Information Technology and Engineering, the Department of Financial Management, the Department of Culture and Media, the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, the Ministry of Adult Education and the Ministry of Ideology and Politics; 28 full-time higher vocational admissions majors, 21 majors in adult education. A total of 2334 new students were admitted in 2019, and the total number of school students now exceeds 4,600. There are currently 2 key majors supported by the central government and 2 national key majors, 4 provincial-level service industry specialty groups, 2 provincial-industry integration demonstration specialties, and 7 provincial higher vocational education demonstration specialties. Nine provincial “dual system” technical and technical personnel training model reform pilot specialties, four provincial modern apprenticeship pilot specialties, etc., have achieved remarkable results in professional construction. It has 3 national-level training bases and 7 provincial-level training bases of various types, among which, it has just been approved for intelligent manufacturing of electrical appliances and electrical appliances. In 2016, it won the “Mechanical and Electrical Equipment and Green Metallurgical New Materials Processing”, the first batch of applied technology collaborative innovation centers in Fujian vocational colleges. In 2019, our university’s provincial university applied technology collaborative innovation centers (mechanical and electrical equipment and green metallurgical new materials processing) won Approved as the Collaborative Innovation Center of the Ministry of Education. In particular, it cooperated with the People’s Government of Fu’an City in the Tiehu Electromechanical Supporting Industrial Park to jointly build a “collaborative innovation public platform” to build the largest “government-industry-research-use” social service integration platform in eastern Fujian and realized the training of talents serving the regional economy. , Technology development, professional group construction and technical training services, the goal of the “Four in One” has become a highlight of the combination of government, industry, research, and research, and truly extends the tentacles of vocational education to industrial parks.
In May 2015, the school was awarded the honorary title of “The Twelfth Civilized School of Fujian Province”. In January 2016, it was selected as the construction college of the model modern vocational college in Fujian Province.
