Introduction to NingboTech University
NingboTech University (浙大宁波理工学院, NingboTech, website) is the former Zhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology (ZJUNIT). The university was established in June 2001. As of March 2021, the school library has more than 1.44 million books, a total of 10 colleges, and 41 undergraduate majors; there are 628 full-time teachers and 10,495 undergraduate students.
A disciplinary and major system has been set up with a focus on engineering and coordinated development of science, liberal arts, law, economics and management. Currently we have one first-class undergraduate major at the national level, six at the provincial level, one international scientific and technological cooperation base under the Ministry of Science and Technology, one regional and national research base under the Ministry of Education, one R&D and service center under the State Oceanic Administration, etc. We offer graduate programs on the strength of Zhejiang University, and has established Ningbo post-doctoral programs. More than 300 Ph.D candidates and graduate students are currently studying and researching here.
NingboTech University conducts cooperation with higher education institutions throughout the world, and has established close partnership with colleges and universities from over 20 countries and regions such as the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Japan and the Central and Eastern European countries along the “Belt and Road Initiative” as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It has been operating joint undergraduate programs with the University of Indianapolis (the US), Ningbo Polish Studies Center with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland), and International China-Central/Eastern Europe Institute of Logistics and Service Science with Bialystok University of Technology (Poland).
