Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology (南京信息职业技术学院, website) is a state-owned public college and is a national model vocational college and a high-level higher vocational college construction unit in Jiangsu Province. The school’s predecessor was Nanjing Radio Industry School, which was founded in 1953. It was the first electronic secondary professional school after the founding of New China. Premier Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi, Tan Zhenlin, and Vice Premier Xi Zhongxun visited the school, and more than 3,000 foreign guests and experts visited the school. In the past 65 years, more than 70,000 technical and technical personnel have been delivered to the society.

The school is located in Xianlin University City, covering an area of 1,000 acres, a building area of 381,000 square meters, more than 13,000 students, fixed assets of more than 1.2 billion yuan, and a total value of 275 million yuan in various teaching and scientific research equipment.

Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology is the chief member unit of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Special Instruction Committee, the lead unit of the National “Sydney Agreement” Applied Research Higher Vocational Colleges Alliance, the chairman of the National Vocational College Mental Health Education Working Committee, Tao Xingzhi Chairman unit of the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Research Association.

Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology has been selected as one of the top 50 national vocational social service contributions, the top 50 national vocational teaching resources, the top 20 national vocational college employment competitiveness demonstration schools, and the 30th national vocational technology competitiveness.

In recent years, the school has won more than 30 honors including the May 1st Labor Award in Jiangsu Province, the National Mass Sports Advanced Unit, the National Defence Education Characteristic School, the Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Excellent School, and the Jiangsu Civilized Unit.

Currently, there are 45 majors, and eight major professional groups including electronic information engineering technology, communication technology, and software technology have been established. There are currently 4 key construction majors in key national vocational colleges, 2 key construction majors supported by the central government; 2 Jiangsu province brand professional construction projects, 5 Jiangsu higher vocational education high-level backbone majors, and 3 provinces Level brand majors, 3 provincial-level specialty majors, 4 provincial key construction specialty groups, and 6 provincial model higher vocational colleges major construction majors.

Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology carried out 3 + 3 staged training with 10 secondary vocational schools, carried out staged vocational undergraduate training with Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and carried out undergraduate joint training with Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology to form a continuous vocational school “Cultivation Overpass” for higher education, higher vocational education, and undergraduate education; in 2014, focusing on the national modern apprenticeship pilot project “Kunshan College”, the government, school, and enterprise cooperative education mechanism was established; in 2015, the Air Force, Navy and The Rocket Army directed training to recruit non-commissioned officers.

The college has 3 national-level training bases, 6 provincial-level training bases, 215 on-campus experimental training rooms, and 400 off-campus training bases; it is well-known with more than 100 households such as China Quality Certification Center, ZTE, Alibaba Cloud, etc. Enterprises have carried out in-depth cooperation, and have established school-enterprise cooperation education programs such as China Recognition New Energy Technology College, Telecommunications College, and Nanxin Aliyun Big Data College.

In recent years, Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology has won 47 national scientific research projects at or above the provincial level, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Science and Technology Support Plan of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Achieved more than 40 million yuan in funds, obtained more than 250 various intellectual property rights, and published more than 4,800 papers in various journals.

The college has 12 science and technology service platforms, which are the vocational skills appraisal base of Jiangsu communication industry, the training base of software industry talents of Jiangsu Province, the education training base of China Certification and Accreditation Association, and the Xinyada IT training park.

Since 2014, it has recruited international students from Laos, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and Ethiopia, and has been awarded the “Jasmine Study Abroad by Jiangsu Government Scholarship” for five consecutive years. Co-established “Aspen University Nanxin China Post Construction College” (Southern Institute of Overseas Branch) with China Post Construction Technology Co., Ltd. and Ethiopia Ass University. This project was selected by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education for the 2018/2019 “Excellent Talents Study in Jiangsu” plan”.
