Introduction to Mianyang City College
Mianyang City College, formerly known as Southwest University of Science and Technology City College, was approved by the educational administration department of the State Council in 2006 and jointly organized by Southwest University of Science and Technology and Hefei Wanbo Social Enterprise Development Group Co. In 2021, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and renamed as Mianyang City College.
The school is located in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, the only science and technology city in China, with two campuses in Youxian and Anzhou, covering an area of 1,200 mu and a planned construction area of nearly 400,000 square meters. There are more than 12,900 students in school and a team of highly qualified teachers. Teaching and research instruments and equipment are more than 88 million yuan, and the total number of books and resources is more than 4.5 million.
The university has 10 secondary colleges, offering a total of 65 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, economics, management, literature, science, education, art and other disciplines. There are three “first-class undergraduate majors” construction sites in Sichuan Province, four application-oriented demonstration professional projects, two professional comprehensive reform majors, and four majors in the key characteristic professional quality improvement program. Among them, the ranking of surveying and mapping engineering is the first among similar institutions in Sichuan Province.
The school continues to deepen the integration of industry and education school-enterprise cooperation. In 2019, the school’s achievements of “integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation” were displayed and exchanged at the annual meeting of China Association of Private Education. 2020, “BIM technology-based construction environment and energy application engineering In 2020, the school-enterprise cooperation project “Construction of BIM-based engineering practice base for building environment and energy application” was selected as one of the excellent cases of “School-Enterprise Cooperation Double Hundred Plan” in China Higher Education Expo (HEEC), and was presented in Changsha.
