Lingnan Normal University (website), the former Zhanjiang Normal College, is a general undergraduate university in Guangdong Province with a history of 100 years of teacher education. It is located in the beautiful port city of Zhanjiang, the southernmost tip of mainland China. In 1904, the school set up a teacher education school. In 1978, it was renamed Leizhou Teachers College. In 1991, it was renamed as Zhanjiang Normal College. In 2014, it was renamed Lingnan Normal University.
In the course of more than one hundred years of teacher education, the university shoulders the mission of educating people. It has trained a large number of outstanding teachers, educators to make educational undertakings, economic and social development in the western Guangdong. In 2000, the university became the first teacher’s college in the country to pass the assessment of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education.
