Introduction to Lanzhou City University

Lanzhou City University (兰州城市学院, website) is a provincial full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education in February 2006. The school is located in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu province, the capital of the Silk Road Economic Belt. The school enjoys convenient transportation and is well-connected, giving it a unique geographical advantage.

Lanzhou City University has three campuses: the campus, Peili campus, and the East campus. The total value of fixed assets is 713 million yuan, including 168 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment. The library has 1,175,800 paper documents, 1 million electronic books, 29 electronic resource databases, and an area of 28,900 square meters. The teaching and research support system is complete, and various public service facilities are complete.

Lanzhou City University currently has 1,176 faculty members, including 117 professors, 298 associate professors, 165 doctors, and 616 masters. Lanzhou City University currently has 57 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, law, education, literature, history, and art. The Ministry of Education has one of the first batch of undergraduate education comprehensive pilot reform programs for undergraduate majors, one undergraduate professional curriculum teaching pilot project, eight provincial specialty specialties, five provincial key disciplines, and provincial engineering. There are 2 research centers, 2 provincial key laboratories, 3 key provincial humanities and social science research bases, and 1 new provincial think tank. It has 18 secondary colleges and 23 research institutes including the Gansu Provincial Institute of Urban Development, the Gansu Cultural Translation Center, and the Louis Alley Research Center. There are currently more than 13,500 full-time students.

Lanzhou City University actively promotes cooperation and international exchanges between schools, enterprises, campuses, and universities, and has established 260 internship training bases and 2 experimental training rooms with the government, universities, research institutes, and enterprises and institutions; and Cyprus Europe University, Ford Hayes State University, Central Oklahoma University, Southwest Georgia State University, Pomona State University of Technology, California, Penza State University, Russia, Eurasia School of Management, France, ARA Canterbury Institute of Technology Established in-depth cooperative relationships with dozens of domestic universities and research institutes, such as Taipei City University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Universal University of Science and Technology, East China Normal University, Shanghai Normal University, Lanzhou University and other domestic universities Established strategic alliances with 4 universities in Anning, Lanzhou, teacher education alliances with 7 universities in the province, and industry strategic alliances with 12 petroleum universities in the country. In 2015, the school officially joined the National Alliance of Applied Technology Universities (College), becoming the first batch of pilot universities in Gansu Province. In 2016, the school became the only governing unit of the Chinese School-Enterprise Collaborative Industry-University-Research Innovation Alliance in our province. In 2017, the Ministry of Education decided to support our school by the counterpart of East China Normal University, and the two corrections established the counterpart support relationship. In the same year, the school was selected as a pilot school of the “National Education Huayu VR World Lab” project of the Ministry of Education.
