Introduction to Jiuzhou Polytechnic
Jiuzhou Polytechnic (九州职业技术学院, website) was founded in 1993 and is a full-time provincial private university. The college is located at the southern foot of Xuzhou Quanshan Scenic Area, adjacent to Xuzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The college has invested a total of 300 million yuan, and the building area of the school building is 150,000 square meters. Teaching, training, living and sports facilities have been built to accommodate 6,000 students. The college actively strengthens joint school running with neighboring strong schools, including China University of Mining and Technology, and shares advantageous teachers and school resources. The college now has a total of more than 400 teachers of various types, and the quality ratio of double teachers among full-time teachers is 71.68%, and it has undertaken more than 200 various teaching, research, and education reform projects. Since the start of the school, nearly 30,000 highly qualified technical and technical personnel have been delivered to the society.
The college now has teaching units such as the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Economics and Management, the Zhongrui Automobile College, the Department of Social Public Services, the Xiangyu Aviation College, the School of Medical and Health, the Public Basic Courses, and the College of Continuing Education. In accordance with the school-enterprise cooperation thinking of “cooperative school running, cooperative education, cooperative employment, and cooperative development”, we have deepened the integration of production and education, and successively carried out multi-form and multi-mode cooperation with more than 60 enterprises and schools. At the same time, the college is geared to career-oriented needs and undertakes an average of more than 4,000 social trainings each year, providing human resources support for regional economic development.
Jiuzhou Polytechnic has 78 on-campus experimental training rooms such as BIM and rehabilitation therapy technology, 46 compact off-campus internship training bases, and has established corporate practice teaching departments in 18 companies, and has hired relevant company leaders to serve as directors of the practice teaching department. The school and listed companies Yunyi Electric Co., Ltd., Huaihai Holdings Group and other units jointly built a shared training base area of 83,000 square meters, and shared training equipment worth nearly 40 million yuan. In 2017, the Xuzhou Prefabricated Building Informatization Cloud Engineering Technology Research Center and the Xuzhou Permeable Water Detection Engineering Technology Research Center established and constructed by our institute were approved as Xuzhou Engineering Technology Research Center by the Xuzhou Science and Technology Bureau.
In 2017, Jiuzhou Polytechnic Construction Engineering Technology major was selected as a provincial high-level backbone major; in 2017, our hospital’s rehabilitation treatment technology major was approved as the city’s consulative authority as a special needs specialty and a key construction specialty in Xuzhou. The college has completed 2 provincial-level specialty programs—architecture engineering technology and applied electronics technology; it has completed the provincial “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” key professional group covering 5 major programs—civil engineering group; and has 1 provincial vocational level Experimental demonstration base for colleges and universities——electronic and embedded system technology training base. Three majors, including construction engineering technology, mechatronics technology, and automobile inspection and maintenance technology, were selected as Xuzhou brand characteristic majors; three cooperative enterprises were selected as Xuzhou “school-enterprise cooperation demonstration enterprises.”
In November 2014, the college successfully passed the evaluation of talent training in higher vocational colleges organized by the Provincial Department of Education. The college has played a role in serving the society, and has repeatedly hosted large-scale sports events and social events, including the provincial games. The college has successively won honorary titles such as Jiangsu Educational Advanced Collective, Jiangsu Provincial Safe Campus, Garden-style Campus, Model Workers’ Home, Worker Pioneer, and Xuzhou Advanced Collective. Students have won more than 100 national and provincial awards in various skill competitions. The school’s academic performance has been reported by many provincial and municipal media and has a good social reputation.
