Introduction to Jinling Institute of Technology
Located in Nanjing, Jinling Institute of Technology (JIT, website) is a full-time undergraduate tertiary university, which cultivates advanced application-oriented talents. It is the strategic research unit of the reform pilot of Ministry of Education on application-oriented universities of science and technology, the founding unit of Association of Universities (Colleges) of Applied Science and the chairman unit of Alliance of Applied Undergraduate Universities in the Yangtze River Delta Region. The predecessor of Jinling Institute of Technology is Jinling Polytechnic University, which is the first vocational university in China, and Nanjing Agricultural College, which was founded in 1958 and rebuilt in 1984. In June 2002, approved by Ministry of Education and the Jiangsu Provincial Government, Jinling Polytechnic University and Nanjing Agricultural College were amalgamated into Jinling Institute of Technology. In March, 2005, Jinling Institute of Technology (JIT) began recruiting new students formally.
There are three campuses, Jiangning campus, Mufu campus and Baixia campus and the main Jiangning campus is located in Jiangning Higher Education Mega Center. JIT covers a total area of 1,016,400 square meters, including a construction area of 646,900 square meters. It owns a total asset of 1.948 billion RMB and a collection of 1.49 million paper books. There are more than 20,000 full-time undergraduates and around 50 postgraduates under joint programs.
There are 17 secondary schools, faculties and colleges, including School of Business, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, College of Intelligent Science and Control Engineering, School of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Software Engineering, School of Cyber Security, School of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Electronic Information Engineering, Faculty of Network and Telecommunication Engineering, Academy of Arts, Animation College, College of Horticulture, Faculty of Animal Science and Technology, Faculty of Material Engineering, College of Foreign Languages and College of Science. There are also 7 teaching and research units including School of Marxism Studies, International Education College, Further Education College, Vocational College, Foundamental Computer Experimental Teaching Center, Nanjing Software Research Institute and Sports Department.
JIT has established 58 undergraduate majors in Economics, Literature, Engineering, Agronomy, Management and Art. The programs of Software Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Business Administration, Design Science and Urban and Rural Planning have been awarded Key Disciplines at the Provincial Level in Jiangsu, and 10 programs of Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Science and Technology and other disciplines have been awarded as Key Disciplines at the Municipal Level. The program of Accounting is the National Characteristic Specialty Construction Program. The programs of Software Engineering, Animation, Accounting, and Building Electricity and Intelligence are Jiangsu Provincial Brand Programs. The programs of Accounting, Fashion Design and Engineering, Animation, and Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation have been awarded Jiangsu Provincial Specialty Program. The program of machinery, civil engineering, business management, and design have been awarded Jiangsu Provincial Key Professional Disciplines. Materials Science and Engineering is Outstanding Engineer Education Training Plan of Ministry of Education. The programs of Telecommunication Engineering and Software Engineering are Outstanding Engineer (Software) Education and Training Programs at the Provincial Level. There are 2 Professional Comprehensive Reform Pilot Projects of Ministry of Education, 2 Provincial Excellent Teaching Teams, 2 Provincial Lanoratories of Key Construction, 5 Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers and 3 Provincial Practical Education Centers (including construction sites).
JIT firmly holds the concept that talent resources are the first resource, and strives to build a industry-oriented high-quality staff team with double qualifications and double abilities which meet the high requirements of application-oriented talents cultivation. There are more than 1400 in-service staff, including over 1000 full-time teachers. 46.52% of teachers have senior professional titles. There are nearly 111 senior titles, 1 dual-employed academician and 4 Chinese and foreign academicians as professors with honors. JIT won 1 second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, 11 first and second prize of the Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards. With 5 courses selected into MOOC open course ware on iCourse of MoE, JIT became the first university out of “211 Universities Project” that enters the MOOC system. JIT actively supports the practice of entrepreneurship of teachers and students and the JIT Chuangkehui has been accredited by Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology as a mass innovation space at the national level. In recent years, the employment rate has remained above 96%, accumulating more than 106,000 applied talents for the society. Graduates are generally praised by employers and a large number of graduates have become the backbone of local economic and social development.
JIT attaches great importance to scientific and technological development and considers it as the first priority. Taking the construction of scientific and technological innovation platform as the carrier, JIT takes the strategic emerging industry as forward-looking technology research and development, focuses on the patent application and technology industrialization and strives to enhance the research and development of science and technology and service capabilities. In the past three years, JIT has obtained more than 1600 patents and undertook nearly 900 scientific research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Fund. A number of scientific and technological achievements won provincial and municipal scientific and technological progress awards. JIT actively cooperates with the government, research institutes and enterprises to carry out diversified cooperation with high benchmark, in multiple forms and on multiple levels. There are 46 scientific and technological platforms on and above the municipal level under the cooperation between government, industry, JIT and research institutions, such as Jiangsu Information Analysis Engineering Laboratory. A number of research achievements have been applied into industry and gained economic and social benefit. The brand effect of social service has been continuously enhanced such as Strong Agriculture and Enrichment Project in Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Legal Aid Project, Nanjing Entrepreneur Intellectual Property Training Program and Nanjing Agricultural Science and Education Lecturer Group. JIT has been awarded the titles of Advanced Unit of Jiangsu Strong Agriculture and Enrichment Project in County and National Harvest Award in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery: Agricultural Technology Promotion and Cooperation Award. The Lecturer Group of Agricultural Science and Education won the 2016 National Popular Lifelong Learning Project.
Attaching great importance to foreign exchange and cooperation, JIT actively learns from offshore universities about the concept of running a university and has been promoting the reform of education and teaching to cultivate senior applied talents with an open mind, an international perspective and the international competitiveness. Since 1995, JIT has been cooperating with universities in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Austria, Holland, USA, UK, Taiwan and Macao. Currently, JIT has four joint programs approved by Minstry of Education including JIT-SUNY Horticulture (Biotechnology), JIT-QUT Software Engineering, JIT-DMU Telecommunication Engineering, and JIT-GCU Civil Engineering.
In recent years, JIT has won a number of honorary titles such as the National Home for Labor Model, Civilized Campus in Jiangsu, Harmonious Campus in Jiangsu, Advanced Unit of Graduate Employment in Jiangsu, Nanjing Civilized Unit, Active Unit in Building New Nanjing, Nanjing May 1st Labor Award, Municipal Advanced Collective in the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games.
At present, focusing on emerging universities with characteristics, gathering efforts on entrepreneurship and industrial development, and vigorously implementing the “Nanjing Strategy” and “Networking Strategy” in accordance with the development goals established by the Second Party Congress, JIT makes efforts to build Nanjing University of Software Science and Technology, an emerging high-level application-oriented university soon.

College of Foreign Languages
The School of Foreign Languages has three departments: College English, IELTS, and English. In addition to the teaching tasks of the University’s English-language public foundation courses and English-speaking courses for international cooperative education.
International College
The International College has 4 Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate programs. Through these programs, 82 international courses have been introduced, and more than 120 foreign teachers have been introduced to teach at the college. At the same time, more than 40 professional teachers were selected to go to foreign partner universities for professional course teaching and training. Since 2003, nearly 850 students with double diplomas from Chinese and foreign universities have graduated from the cooperation project. More than 80% of the graduates have been admitted to the world’s top 100 universities. Graduates of international competitiveness are widely welcomed by the society.
English Teacher Recruitment
Job Description
The foreign teachers will teach students from the International College or students of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language major or English major. If it’s to teach at the International College, the courses would be spoken English for IELTS and culture courses. If it’s to teach students of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language major or English major, then the courses would be oral English.
Class schedule: Monday to Friday, 16 classes per week. 18 classes per week if the teacher only teaches oral English courses. 45 minutes per class. 18 weeks per semester.
Requirement
1. Bachelor’s degree or above, English or Education major preferred

3. Age from 25 to 60 years old
4. Must have a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate

About Nanjing
Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu sheng (province) in eastern China. It is a port on the Yangtze River (Chang Jiang) and a major industrial and communications centre. Rich in history, it served seven times as the capital of regional empires, twice as the seat of revolutionary government. Nanjing is the second largest city in the East China region, only after Shanghai. It is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. Food
Traditional Nanjing cuisine is known as Jin Su cuisine and is notable for the emphasis placed on original flavor and carefully selected raw ingredients. Nanjing dishes are traditionally bright in color and use only a moderate amount of seasoning but a significant amount of oil. Many of the city’s local favorite dishes are based on ducks, including Nanjing salted duck, duck blood and vermicelli soup, and duck oil pancake.
Weather
Nanjing’s four seasons are clearly distinguishable and has plenty of rainfall to keep it green. The hot summer months are from July to September. Winter lasts from December until March. Spring and autumn are both mild and pleasant. January and July mean temperatures are about 37 °F (3 °C) and 82 °F (28 °C), respectively. The average annual rainfall is about 40 inches (1,000 mm), the bulk of it falling between June and August.
