Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (贵州中医药大学, website) was founded in 1965. Graduate education began in 1978 and was awarded the right to grant a master’s degree in 1981. It is one of the first batch of units with a master’s degree authorization approved by the Degree Committee of the State Council.
Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was approved as a key university in Guizhou Province in 2004. In 2007, it was rated as an “excellent” institution for undergraduate teaching level assessment. It successfully passed the undergraduate teaching review and evaluation of the Ministry of Education and the professional certification of Chinese medicine and pharmacy, and was awarded the “Civilized Campus” of Guizhou Province. In November 2018, the former “Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine” was renamed “Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine” by the Ministry of Education.
Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is located in Guiyang, a beautiful and pleasant forest city, with two campuses, Huaxi and Jiaxiu. At present, there are more than 15,000 undergraduate students, including more than 1,000 postgraduates. There are basic medical college, college of pharmacy, first clinical college of medicine, second clinical college of medicine, acupuncture and trauma college, college of nursing, college of humanities and management, college of sports and health, college of information engineering (modern information technology education center), continuing 15 colleges (departments), including the College of Education, the Marxism College, the Foreign Language Teaching Department, the Graduate School, the Miao College of Medicine, and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health; there are 10 institutes such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicine, and National Medicine; there are two directly affiliated hospitals, They are all Grade A Chinese medicine hospitals. Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine currently has 1010 full-time teachers, of which nearly 600 have senior titles. The university currently has 23 undergraduate majors, covering 6 disciplines in medicine, science, engineering, management, law, and education. There are 27 master degree authorization points, including 3 master degree points for first-level disciplines, 20 master degree points for second-level disciplines, and 4 professional master degree points. 32 provincial and ministerial key disciplines, including 1 national key (cultivation) discipline, 18 key disciplines of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 4 provincial key disciplines, 7 provincial key disciplines, and Guizhou’s domestic first-class construction disciplines 1 and 1 regional first-class construction discipline.

There is one National Experimental Station of Chinese Medicine Industry Technology System.
