Guizhou Education University (贵州师范学院, website), located in Wudang District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is a provincial full-time general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school’s predecessor was the Guizhou Institute of Education, founded in 1978. In 2009, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be converted into a full-time general undergraduate college. In 2013, it was awarded a bachelor’s degree qualification. In 2015, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education. Guizhou Education University currently has 18 teaching units and 46 undergraduate majors, covering 10 disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, science, and engineering. Guizhou Education University adheres to open education, has established friendly and cooperative relations with universities and educational institutions in the United States, Canada, Thailand and other countries and Taiwan, and has joined the “International Education Alliance”; with Central China Normal University, Qingdao University, Wuhan Conservatory of Music, etc. Colleges and universities have established counterpart assistance relationships; signed cooperation agreements with Inspur Group, the Education Bureau of each city (state) of Guizhou Province, the People’s Government of Wudang District, Guiyang City, and educational institutions and local governments and other institutions to carry out cooperative education.
